Don't forget that Kash Patel, Trump's nominee for FBI Director, is currently refusing to divest himself of 5 million dollars worth of stock options in a Chinese shell company tied to Shein that are in the process of vesting.
I'm no banker, but I seem to recall that usually shares don't vest unless you're still on the company's (country's?) payroll. Surely a little bribery and conflict of interest won't keep him from doing the job, right?

Typically when people are given compensation in stocks, they are required to hold those stocks for a certain period of time before they can sell them. This is called the "vesting period". This also usually happens when a company matches an employee's contribution to a retirement plan, they have to remain employed by the company for a certain amount of time before the assets contributed by the company become the property of the employee.

Guess what? This is how it works every fucking elsewhere. If you buy things in EU from vendors outside of EU, you have to pay (customs) import tariff based on the commodity and then a (value added) tax of about 20 to 25%, depending on the country, that is calculated from the original price, plus shipping plus the tariff. So please, go ahead, cry harder and welcome to the rest of a somewhat civilized world.

Shein and temu are absolute garbage. No one should be making large purchases there in the first place. Go to your local thrift shop for cheap clothes. I could fill a grocery store bag full of clothes for $5 at my local thrift store.

Diligence pays off with thrift shops. I've dropped off top rack complete suits, good shirts, and no garbage...just simply didn't fit any more. Skinny suits on a mid-50s look ridiculous, even being in good shape. Same when I downsized my clutter to move across country. Not worth my time and hassle to sell on CL or FB...and someone else gets value of of it.
