Kittens are coming TONIGHT!! Good thing I didn’t take my sleepy-time medicine yet. Wonder how many she’ll have?? This is so exciting! Think my boss will let me call into work tomorrow because my foster cat gave birth? That’s a thing, right? Update: boss gave me the day off, just asked for kitten pics first! She had two kittens: https://imgur.com/gallery/XzYDBJt

Oxitocin for the win! Works for human contrations, works for cat contractions, works for turtles laying eggs.

Absolutely a thing!

Little mama!!! You can do it!! THEN POST KITTEN PICS

My mom let me come home early from summer school math because our stray cat gave birth in my dresser. It's a legit reason imo.

If your boss isn't ok with it, your boss isn't ok with me.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Haha he gave me the day off!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh that looks painful. Good luck!

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Good luck! When my cat got her contractions I carried her to a box lined with towels for her to hide. The party started in about half an hour

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I read that as contradictions at first.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Aaaack!! So exciting. Need new kitten pics.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ooo... I've seen this before. This is the part where the alien bursts out of the stomach and skitters across the floor and kills someone.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That cat is like 90% uterus

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are you SURE they’re hers?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hope it goes well! Congrats

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I sent him pics and he gave me the day off!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One of our special needs cats just got up, walked across the room, booped your post then went back = clearly he is impressed

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Haha well I’m glad to have engaged him in this birthing process! Give him a boop for me!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kitty needs to take big deuce... why you filming kitty... bring me souls.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just say you had a family medical emergency. It's not a lie, and they'll assume something they think is reasonable

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Haha he actually gave me the day off after I sent him pics!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, just had seven babies pop out gonna need a day.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Favourited so I can come back for kits.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Update added!! :)

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Stop filming her and get her a towel!!

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 6

And maybe a mop

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Kitty: why are you taking my toilet away?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kitty

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

@op tell them you're taking sick tomorrow for a medical issue. They don't need to know details.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

It's... A medical issue of sorts? Just not yours.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly. I don't believe you can deny sick leave, and I THINK you're not even entitled to ask what it's for - most you can do is ask for

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

documentation that you had a visit. I work as a fed, though, so our rules may be different than most US laws.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She’s such a beautiful kitty!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can feel those contractions just watching it, poor girl!

5 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 1

Yeah I ate that bad once, too

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whew me too. And I'm a dude.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've watched several cats give birth over the years. It's gross and takes forever. Just like people births. But with more placenta snacks.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That is a delightful way of putting that, thank you :)

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was very young the first time I saw it happen. The moment should have come with a warning.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My first mama cat who gave birth in my house had 8 kittens. She was positively stuffed after eating all that...detritus

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I just noticed your user name. Very fitting

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Haha thanks! I chose carefully :)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

'placenta snacks' It would have cost you nothing to not say that. You had me in the first half, ngl.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Then neuter her after that .. Please!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Promise!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*Spay. Males are neutered, females are spayed. Please look up the terminology so you sound smarter to people in RL; it's fascinating. ^_^

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Thanks for correcting this, I am better in French!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hello. Saw your bitchy comment so am here to tell you 'spay' is female, 'neuter' applies to both male & female. Now you can sound smarter.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

She has a good safe place to give birth I hope.

5 years ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 4

yeah, right on the hardwood floor.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 21

I'm just wondering if it hurts them as a much as it hurts humans. She seems tired but calm.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Human births are difficult because of how large our infants are, and how fucked about our pelvis is for bipedalism.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

And drama

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

They do yelp once the kittens start to come out, but it doesn't seem like the same degree of pain. Source: Helped many cat births

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Cats are also VERY good at hiding pain and injuries.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh yes, she has her choice of three enclosed areas with soft blankets in my kitten room, but seems to be happiest right on the floor

5 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 0

Our cats would usually ignore those spots, in favor of my lap.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not a cat-owner, but would that have anything to do with her wanting to be near the nice humans? I hope everything goes well, good luck!

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I have noticed that the birthing mama cats in my life have wanted to be near me, even going so far as to give birth in my lap! You’re right!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah like giving birth in a frying pan in the cupboard.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Story time?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cats never lay on what is intended for them. Plus they like cold fat surfaces.

5 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

So a few big northerners should do?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gave me a chuckle as I lay, face half in pillow.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was gonna say, I bet she likes the smooth and cold aspect. :)<3

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My cats all take turns sleeping on the bathroom floor, the bathroom sink and the bath tub. I don’t blame them; I love a cold pillow.
