This is great, but I find that when I mention Rosa Luxemburg's Reform or Revolution and explain why reform can't work and how liberalism and conservatism are both right wing ideologies and that voting for democrats won't fundamentally change anything because those reforms are only just concessions from the rich meant to manufacture consent for atrocity, I get downvoted and people call me a russian bot and accuse me of trying to get people not to vote, but I literally knocked on doors for Harris.

Any thinking person understands that when it's a carrot or the stick situation, you pick the carrot, and obviously liberal governance is going to be better for people living in the imperial core than conservative governance because they are far more likely to give certain concessions as long as they don't impact profit, but we have to overthrow the whole thing if we aim for anything beyond temporary concessions.

And revolutions eat themselves. The Terror, purges, de-kulakization, the Khmer Rouge, more. Reforms may need to be defended, but revolutions turn on themselves and get ugly an awful lot. (With the added provision that the American Revolution really wasn't; it was a war of Independence where local leadership stayed the same)

I assure you it was more progressive than the "let them eat cake" that preceded it. And yes, it *can* get ugly, but that doesn't change that it is functionally the only way things have ever gotten better in the history of history, to sweep away the power structures of old to roll the dice on a new one.
