Look, all this motivational shit only works if there is a sense of satisfaction to be derived from drawing something. And for the last few years, it's been difficult to find that satisfaction, even after finishing a drawing.
You don't draw just to draw (unless it's your fucking job). Also it SUCKS ass when it feels like you don't exist to anyone or anything, even as a person or artist, or anything really. Why bother drawing when even people in Discord don't see you?

I followed a lot of web comics for quite a long time. Sure, some of them were started by professional artists doing something on the side for fun or ad revenue, but most were just enthusiastic newbies.
It may look like ugly little doodles now, but then you're looking back on it a decade later and suddenly they're the art director of Steven Universe (RPG World, Ian Jones-Quartey)
Or Dan Shive or Tom Fischbach - 2 decades later, still drawing, unrecognizably improved.
It's more important to start.

what I've learned from seeing several artists evolve is, you start by drawing something more substantial than a stick figure and it'll probably turn out crummy, then you look at how others draw and make the next one less crummy, and so on going through lots of paper
that is - everyone started out bad and it getting good took work

there was a strip a week or so ago that said something about girl characters being more popular on patreon, and...that joke got shen a bunch of new subscribers, so...they've just kinda been rolling with it as a meta joke.
