#ListenUp: She Wants Revenge - "Tear You Apart"

She Wants Revenge are a gothic rock band based out of Los Angeles, California. They've had… a tumultuous time. Originally they were around from
~2004, but split up in 2012. Then they got back together in ~2015, but split up in 2020. They got BACK together in ~2022 and are STILL together — everyone knock on wood. They've got three studio albums, but the last one was released in 2011 — however they have been releasing singles since, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and rooting for them. This track is from their first album back in 2006, but it's always been my favorite from them.

Fun fact: Joaquin Phoenix directed this music video. Neat.

I've always thought this sounded like a mashup of "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus and "She's Lost Control Again" by Joy Division. Not that that's a bad thing.

Fuck yes! I first heard them back in like 2008 or 2009 and fell in love. Shared them with my now wife then girlfriend who fell in love as well. We saw them in Madison back in 2019 and last Christmas I saw they FINALLY re-released their first album on vinyl so I got the wife a copy. Will always be my rainy day soundtrack. And they make for a great soundtrack in The Number 23.

You're quite welcome! I do try to switch up the genres of the tracks, but I will admit I don't tend to post classic goth sounding music very often — hopefully I'll be able to post another track that fits into that description at some point in the near future for you! 😄

Haha, well, it's not my only genre, but any darker alternative makes me happy! ^^ And I almost always like what you post, even if I don't add it to my rotation, you're doing a great job.
