DOW over 50,000!? Ask the average guy on the street how that affects putting food on the table for his family. Come on -

And probably they will anyway turn the statue down, but to build a datacenter to hit you with AI face recognition aimed drones.

This comic came out quite a bit ago... damn

Tariffs, elective war in the Middle East, and arresting immigrants didn't bring the gas prices down? I'm shocked. Shocked. Well, not that shocked.

These are all symptoms of war profiteering.

And all 12 trans kids in the country are being ostracized

But have you heard the DOW was over 50,000?

That is amazing (love those auto tune guys)

That was most likely only built and erected in the first place in like 1963 as pushback against civil rights.

Yes there was a uptick in the '60s, but the highest year was 1910, with majority being put up between 1890-1920 (as a way for history to be re-written / manipulated by the losers) - Neat info graphic: https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/6tukfg/this_graphic_shows_how_late_most_confederate/

The statue is really the "less wrong" of their motivations.

I mean, learning & preserving history is a very important goal. Yes. But glorifying the wrong aspects... Nah...

Still not a good enough reason to vote for the ass clown, though. l think that’s the point.

Good enough? It's a vile reason

CBS will offer them a high paying pundit role

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 25

I'm probably just out of touch, I don't get what all the downvotes are for. CBS is owned by Paramount Skydance whose previous billionaire owner was a big supporter of Israel and who's current billionaire owner has been perfectly willing to bend the knee for Trump. Saying some "own the libs" clown could get a pundit job doesn't feel far-fetched. I assume I'm missing something here.

The OP is not pro-Trump, is why? I'm confused as to this comment tbh

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

NYTimes Pitchbot isn't pro-Trump, but my reading of the pitch is from the perspective of someone who is. I can see how it could be read the other way. Is the tweet sarcastic: "At least they didn't tear down the statue. *Eyeroll*" or satirical: "It sucks that things are hard, but I'm glad we're preserving the important historical things". I read it as the satire, as given the title, I think that's what the OP intended us to read, so we're supposed to assume a Trump supporter said it genuinely.

I think it's satire and the person who was downvoted didn't get that it was satire. At least, that was my takeaway and the reason I think they were downvoted.

Original post is *satirizing* someone who is pro-Trump. So this comment seems to be saying such a pro-Trump character could get a CBS job.

This is what I thought @irespectfullycourtyermam was saying as well. "The pro-Trump clown from the joke, if they existed, could get a job saying a lot while knowing nothing on a network that's owned by pro-Trump billionaires"

I read it as them not understanding it was satire, but that could also be true, thanks
