The doors were modified and can’t close. The plane doesn’t fit.

And to think it all came about because of the “hurry, it’s Friday beer-call and we can go when the hangar doors are shut” incident.

I don't know. That looks like someone messed up pretty big and then had to cover his ass

If they’re cold, their tails are cold.. bring them in.

Have to park in *exactly* the right spot every time though

It’s not that hard the area around the opening is a spring loaded seal plus there are marks on the floor for where the wheels go. Every branch of the military has to make most things idiot proof, remember you have kids just out of high school performing these tasks. (Usually supervised of course)

Barksdale AFB has doors like this, too. Pretty common in places with older infrastructure that wasn't designed for larger, modern planes.

When the quilt doesn't quite cover one's toes completely and there's a draught...

Stupid me, not being an Architect or an Engineer or anything, would have stupidly made the hanger 100 feet or so longer. Boy would I have looked dumb.

What happens in tornado weather?

I feel like if the doors 'perfectly' accommodated the Globemaster, then they would be tall enough to pull the whole jet inside...

The doors fit perfectly but the warehouse was probably built in the 40’s.

IIRC there isn't enough length

That’s what she said

IIRC, you missed the point

If you could build a taller door I'm sure some egghead engineer can work out how to make a hangar longer...

My guess the hanger was built without aircraft of that size in mind and the 'perfect design' was a modification to the original

I feel like you could just “add more hangar”

Not for the same price as cutting a hole in the door
