Minnesota is broken and getting worse.

Federal agents killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti, but the rot goes deeper than the shootings. In open court today, a government attorney told a federal judge that "the system sucks. The job sucks" before adding she wished she would be held in contempt so she could sleep.

She's not alone. Fourteen other prosecutors and a supervising FBI attorney have resigned recently. She stayed because she realized she could get people out from the inside. Another judge cited 96 court orders that DHS has violated across 74 cases.

Today, Governor Tim Walz demanded that the government account for all Minnesota children in federal custody. He said that no one in the government would tell him. That's not surprising. The attorney told the judge today that they were working 600 habeas corpus cases in Minnesota.

#1 I'm almost surprised they didn't arrest Petro there. Because after all the threats, and accusations, their actions in Venezuela, and their general lack of respect for international law, that seemed entirely possible.

#14 "Bodycams" are the excuse dems will use to justify giving ICE more money. Call your reps, make it clear a vote for funding ICE will mean the death of their political career. ICE can rent a few less warehouses and sell back some military hardware if they need money for body cams.

#4 must be fought with whatever dregs of morality our politicians have left and by all necessary means for civilians. I should hope not violence, but pressure and numbers are certainly needed.

I think we all know which states will fall where although, just like the first time, a couple may surprise us.

#10 is a great read, its basically a career attorney dealing with the chucklefucks, trying to put up the good fight and get people released when they are supposed to.

ICE operations will turn into voter intimidation for the mid terms. Even if ICE isnt in your state terrorizing your citizens, PREPARE your communities, following models of rapid and decentralized community responses such as Minnesota, Maine and other states. ICE operations are simply a dry run. Defend our democracy.

I agree with your first sentence. Bannon is already publicly calling for it.
