First rule of water rescue. Don't become a victim. Except for this guy! That's one lucky pup. What the hell is that thing? How many kids have fallen into it?
There's a lot of tragic stories of people and animals falling into well, holding tanks, etc. There's really not enough saftey creatures around a lot of water sources. If an animal falls in, there should be an easy way to get out.
Tiny octopus is always suspicious of videos like this. Because what's more believable...that a dog happened to jump into a well with a foot high retaining wall around it, or some asshole human tossed the dog in so they could "rescue" it and get a video to go viral.
My dogg growing up was given to me by my step mothers strange older friends. He was 2 when we got him. My step mothers friend had gone for a walk through some bush to hide having a cigarette, saw a car stop at a bridge, and throw 2 bags in the water. He got closer, saw they were moving, swam out to them, and pulled out 2 Kelpie puppies
I would call it realist. Humanity sucks in so many different ways. It doesn't have to suck, but our species is so broken that we will destroy eden to get to Mars.
While this is true, I am more willing to believe this is genuine because the people who put animals into bad situations just so they can farm content "saving" them don't usually put themselves in physical danger like this guy did.
Or someone tossed the dog in and this caring human with empathy decided to do the brave thing. Maybe think that most people are not that cruel and unusual
Hootykai
Couldn't he just walk on the wate?
Ermennda
The colour of that water announces either superpowers or death.

My dog would have wiggled out at the second rung from the top, and fallen back in.
Pebblebro
If that is wine, I would “save” the dog too!
RedCamaro
How many other animals have fallen in there and contaminated the water?
Robbann
i feel like those steps could have been a little bit closer together

Maybe grab a rope or at least do something to help rather than filming?

Another suspicious thing is that you are referring to yourself in the third person.

Dude, that is a dark outlook.
ParaBellumOutfitters
And sadly, a deserved one.
darthstormer
It's dark, but it's a trend that does happen. People have been exposed for doing just that.

Unfortunately a lot of people have been caught doing shit like that.

Unfortunately it's not unrealistic

…. Who just happened to have a film crew.
I have doubts

Well we all carry video recording phones in our pockets and tend to capture anything around us.
DaddyYo2
It reminds me of the filming of Milo and Otis. They made a feel-good family movie, but it involved tossing cats off cliffs and other awful things.
