Strangely false. Kids only play with attractive kids - they'll shy away from ugly, noisy or smelly kids.
That being said, they don't care about class, colour, flesh or gender.

Swap out the colors and I lose any feelings. I sometimes think of the old cartoon "Reboot" and how the cast had green, blue, or orange skin. I barely even notice who has green skin vs blue and have no cultural hangups or stereotypes whatsoever. Is orange bad? Is green the majority? Who knows? Who cares? I wish we could feel the same about pale and dark skin here on Earth.

Being blind to color is also not really the answer. To say I don't see color is to say I don't see the systemic oppression and different circumstances you might have gone through.

This is 100% true. However I have lived in 2 countries in Africa. And poor education, awful politics, plenty of idiots and violence have taught me I would much rather live in Europe. With all that said. I would estimate 5% of the population caused those problems. In Europe the assholes seem to be 2-3 times less numerous but they still exist here too. Society takes time to build and requires peace for it to flourish.

That's the way it is the world over. While there are one-time offenders, it's only about 5% of the population who are repeat offenders. But it's those 5%, not the more numerous one-off offenders who regret it and don't repeat, who are responsible for about 80% of the violent crime. THAT, not any racial inequality, is why racial profiling is wrong. It's not that you're aiming more at one race than another. It's that you're aiming about 95% of the effort at the wrong members of that race.

Yes, it's not about race or minorities in general. It's about money. Always has been. If there is REASONABLE work available people will work and when everyone has food a roof, electricity and clothing crime drops significantly. I would also add that culture and religion can make that mix incredibly volatile as well.

Took my 6 year old to the Asian market and he said (loudly) Wow Daddy! There's a LOT of Asian people here! And we got dirty looks. Not from the people of Asian descent, from the white Americans. I said: "you know what buddy, you're right. There ARE a lot of Asian people here. That's because at this store they can get the foods that remind them of home.". Kids do honesty, not racism. I refuse to treat it as something it's not.

Took my grandchildren to an event an African American Co worker was having where a lot of his family were. He asked me why there were not a lot of peach skinned people there, but he ended up meeting new people and having fun.

When I was in kindergarten, at barely five years old, I had to defend the sole minority child from the others who were taunting him with the worst racist slurs that they had picked up and were trying to beat him up (the kindergarten teachers did almost nothing as we both got bruises and blue eyes). It took me and a very engaged teacher in primary school until the end of third grade for him to not be discriminated against anymore by the other kids. If raised poorly, little kids can be vicious.

Not strictly true. Any parent know that little kids point out every single difference to them. Different teeth, different skin colour, it’s down to the parents to celebrate the differences

Same for dogs. Just crossed a racist dog owner the other day, kept shouting at her dog to not play with my dogs. I just stood there watch her ass scream as her dog was having a blast with mine.

"Kids aren't racist" has been passed around for as long as I've been alive and somehow hasn't erased racism. I know it makes people feel good but it is the "thoughts and prayers" approach to racism/bigotry.

Yep. My kid, at 6 years old, told an Arab kid that she couldn't play with her and her friends because her skin was brown. Much ensued. When we talked about it later, and oh boy did we talk about it, it was that she couldn't see any other reason to exclude her, other than the truth, which was that she just didn't like her. And because my kid is the queen of timing, this was literally on 9-11. I've never been more mortified in my life.

My kids are causains mixed with matè and are in a class with mostly black children. It's amazing to see the dynamic and the way they play together. They all just love being around each other. Very cool to see.

There was a video years ago where they asked kids what's different between them. None of them mentionned skin color, one mentionned that he liked a different vegetables. And kids, just like old people, have no filters.

Not true. In my pre teens I grew up in northern Canada where a large amount of the population were native. They broke into my house, stole from me in school. Had multiple bikes stolen (yes 2 found out who did it). I moved. Nobody told me not to let the one kid in my house because he was such a thief! As far as I was concerned they were all fucking thieves! It took a Lot of effort to change and not hate the race because of shitty individuals. My best friend is half native and an awesome person!
