Intellivision, it's not up there. Vertical controller with numbers on the front, games came with plastic overlays that slid over the numbers. Round disc for movement below the numbers as well as buttons on both sides of the controller. Usually found at garage sales

Heck yah, loved my intellivision! Would pause the asteroids/space invaders knockoff game if I had to leave the house and it was going well. That and the biplane game were my favorites.

I loved my Intellivision. We got a ton of games when it was losing popularity. My faves were Triple Play, D&D, Astrosmash, lock n’ chase, bump n jump. We also got speech synthesizer from someone that no longer wanted it. I was so pissed when my mom threw it away. I was going to rebuild the controllers. Those membranes in the controller sucked

I miss the days before MS decided all PC games needed to use the Xbox controls, even PS ports. All my muscle memory is YXBA and now you want me to use XYAB? But Switch is still how I remember it? My thumbs never really learned how to context switch like that.

I started with the N64. I would have liked to play video games earlier than that, but the way I was raised I felt like wanting anything made me a bad person. My parents always had to make wild guesses on what to get me for Christmas or my birthdays because I would never ask for anything since I felt like I would get yelled at or get in trouble for wanting anything.
