These are adorable and wanted to share…

Have a great day Imgur & Love from Japan!

Or just go to Kura revolving sushi in the States. They use em too.

Kurasushi locations in the USA use a similar model to deliver drinks.

I saw one of these (without the cat ears) at a Mexican restaurant in Virginia last time I ate out. It blasted Macarena on repeat as it flawlessly rolled around the bustling tables. It felt like I passed another milestone into the 21st century. ┗(•ˇ_ˇ•)―

These are really annoying sometimes though because they repeat stuff and they block your way and can’t move really fast away. Or maybe I just don’t like robots

I feel it'd help if they had two buttons on their head for left and right so people could reach out and push that button and trigger it to shift to the left or right to let you by

Thats a kerfus

There are a couple Japanese restaurants in Houston that have those also, although one only uses it when it's somebody's birthday and they send out a slice of cake

I have an intense dislike of the one in our grocery store.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I love the absolute lack of explanation or context here, just full creative liberty to our imaginations

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Guessing it's more an authority device instead of a customer service. Only the US could make being hungry a crime.

I saw 1 of these in a chineese buffet in louisville.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have seen them a few times in restaurants in Scandinavia. Sometimes they accidentally go into kill all intruders-mode, so you should be armed.

They have some of these at a sushi place in Mall of America.

It definitely looks like a good steak and eggs please

We have the sape in France... In chinese restaurant.

That looks like the inside of a Gusto. I live in Japan too. If you pet the robot, it giggles or purrs.

It's a Kerfus!

Another Voices of the Void fan I see.

I was a fan of Kerfus before it was in that game.

Restaurant with one of those opened recently in Tacoma WA.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do we leave a tip? 15%?

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

No tipping in Japan, they're paid a real wage.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I know that, it was supposed to be a joke. Guess I should have included the /j

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No tipping in Japan.

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

You gotta specify 257% so it overflows and knocks money off the bill.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Then you have to deal with it wanting to nuke everyone though

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eh, the human servers want to murder customers pretty much constantly and it hardly ever happens.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Heck, we have those in Nova Scotia.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Japanese restaurants in Canada too. Just Canadians don't trust the robots yet so we still have servers falling it around as a robot-assistant.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These cute guys are on the east coast too. Ive seen them in Akira Ramen restaurants around the DC area. They give them little hats for the holidays too.

We have one at the casino where I work

Kura sushi bar in California has similar LCD faces robots that bring drinks.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Was just gonna say this! We've also got a kbbq place that has one that's named Bella

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

916, and you?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ding ding ding 😉 although admittedly I did move back to 415 a few months ago, but I really miss that kbbq joint.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And steal jobs?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not really. The ones at Kura sushi bring cold non alcoholic beverages. Humans still bring the alcohol or hot tea.
I get the "robot took err jerbs" but Kura is a conveyor belt sushi place already, adding a few robots allows the employees focus on primary customer service.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A human worker still has to pour the drinks, put them on the robot, punch in the destination, and send the robot out so not really impacting jobs. Plus if you want a refill, the servers still fully take care of that. From my experience the robots are just there to be a fun novelty in an already novelty centered restaurant.

We have them in Australia too.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Matsumoto in Lygon st got them during the covid lockdown

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Canada as well. The owners had the folded box it came in tucked next to the cash register

And in Germany.

Few of the buggers at Laksa King in Westfield Southland, Vic

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where, may I ask?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've seen them in a few restaurants in Perth.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I went to an Indian restaurant in the Grampians (rural Victoria) and they had one. It was quite surprising.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This tiny Indian restaurant in America that I frequent has them too. A waiter literally follows the robot to the table though, so I have no idea what purpose it serves, but they have one!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw one at a Denny’s in California

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do we?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cool.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try Dawn Cafe in Tokyo. There are robots controlled by house-bound operators who chat to you at your table, drive robots around delivering your order, and even making the coffee.

Yes Iwad an orihime pilot.. I piloted mechs in the culinary battles... It was intense

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is incredibly wholesome...
Feeling that you are doing a useful job by society definitely could help with mental health for these people, plus, they do something important too!

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Exactly what it was created for. These people feel they are useful in society, have social interaction, and get paid for their work. It's a fantastic concept and well worth supporting if anybody gets the opportunity.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Absolutely not what it was created for. Humans will be phased out as soon as the tech allows it after learning from the human operators

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I could not handle that but that is totally a me issue, glad it exists though! Pretty great stuff.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What do you mean you can't handle it?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Talking to strangers can be a lot for some people.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Really cool idea btw!
