Amazingly a company apparently had the balls to do an "AI powered" round of job interviews, which receives here all the respect it deserves.

We all have a little bit of denim from time to time.

Took me a second to differentiate this from regular ‘salesforce consultant’ horseshit.

Still hated it. Fuck AI

"I understand."

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I am trying to hire and in each round there are now one or two candidates who submit my questions to AI and read back the answers, in real time.

1 day ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's such a huge concern over potential employees using AI to do interviews for them and here companies are using AI to conduct interviews. The double standard is hilariously sad. I want to see two AI talk to each other during an interview like this and see what transpires lol.

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Stay away from any company that does shit like this. I won't touch a company or their products if they promote AI in any way. In their motto, to their ads, to their products. If I get a whiff of anything AI related, I'm out the door and your company is going on my shit list.

Chick Bongo is a highly respected raccoon protocol professional, and he'd be an asset on any team (but especially drill bits).

That creepy ass blinking.

Nicely illustrates why the Turing test is BS. It's easy for chatbots to pass as human when the conversation partner makes an effort to treat the thing like a person. But why would we? We've come to hate bots. All we want to do is mess with them & fuck them up if we can be arsed to interact with them at all. So this should be the new Turing test. If the toaster doesn't ask "are you having a stroke" or "what the hell is wrong with you" one minute in,it doesn't get to call itself AI. It's just an A

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would not keep applying if they gave me an AI chat bot to interview with and would purposely find a way to break it.

LLMs in a nutshell. Which is what makes these things so dangerous when people use them as substitutes for friends or companions, or even as therapists. "Lately I've been thinking about assassinating the pope." – "Sounds like assassinating the pope is an important goal to you. I bet you could succeed if you put your mind to it." Even if they add safeguards, eventually the bot caves when the user keeps pressing the matter and says "Well, if it's so important to you maybe you should give it a try."

Hahahaha, fuck. We are in the bad place, aren't we?

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Raccoon protocols are notoriously Dicks.

1 day ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 1

Excellent. If the companies are going to treat the interview process like it’s a waste of time they deserve people to treat it like a joke.

Fucking NAME and SHAME... I KNOW THEY HAVE NO SHAME. But at least let other people look know what ass hole is doing this sort of "AI" power horse shit

1 day ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Without a company name, it's just Internet bullshit.

1 day ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

WELL?!? DID CHICK BONGO GET THE FUCKING JOB? Those racoons aren't going to hallway drillbit sideways by themselves Ferris.

1 day ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

To say nothing of the pharmacists on the work truck!

1 day ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Give it broken up gibberish and it will fill in what it estimates would be correct. It's a language model. It's converting the words to tokens and probabilistically matching them with tokens that assemble a coherent response that fits its parameters.

1 day ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

This is also why this shit couldn't be further from actual intelligence. It's artificial sycophancy. It'll never say "What the hell are you even rambling about" or "Are you fucking with me?", or "I feel like I should call a bondulance".

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I wouldn't necessarily say never, but it needs new breakthroughs on how it analyzes prompts, assembles outputs, and validates output integrity. Larger models with more parameters and more iterative processing isn't going to solve the problem.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I don't know about y'all, but I wanna hear more about the gauze plumes.

1 day ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I need a rundown of the raccoon protocol. It sounds like something I would absolutely implement at my job.

1 day ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Makes me wonder if you could give 'em the ole "Bobby Tables" treatment somehow and fuck with the system.

Some phrase involving "WWE" causes AI to have a minutes-long aneurysm.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If it's like those AI phone calls, they pay more the longer you engage with the AI. I saw a video on Imgur where a guy asked the AI on the phone to do a bunch of ridiculous adjustments to how it talks(such as always say Albuquerque, New Mexico, instead of the letter A when it comes up in a word. It helps me to understand you) until it gets so bloated remembering the new programming that it eventually just shits the bed.

1 day ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That was possibly the best video I'd ever seen in this AI hellscape we live in. "Albuquerque, New Mexico" has become a random phrase in this house that we say when we can't think of what else to say.

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

actually the specific video that you're thinking of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk3jCuITwcE

Too much burning of forests, not enough burning of company infrastructure. Make is cost them more than they ever expected.

All I’m saying is, trunk line optical fiber cables are relatively easy to find and even easier to disable.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also, cut in multiple locations and pull the cable out where possible, otherwise the repairs are way too easy.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes, that is imperative. Doesn’t even need to be multiple locations, even a 1-2m section cut out makes repairs so much more difficult. Of course, 1-2m sections at multiple locations is best.

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Maybe if you paid more attention to your Salesforce Kayak margins ...

1 day ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I don't think this timeline is fond of us, either.

The matrix was right. We did peak in the 90s.

Old Russian saying; “…..and then things got worse”

1 day ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

I thought that was the tagline for the Lions led by Donkeys podcast.\

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But I didn’t want to learn Russian

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I ended up reading Anna Karenina in jr high school just so I could crush out the "points" needed for the assignment of the quarter. And man, "....and then things got worse" is absolutely what Tolstoy wrote except for the end, when she gets hit by that train, I cheered. For her, and for me.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had an AI bot, from a local dealership, text me repeatedly and then quote me a 2 hour repair on a recall. There were two small details the AI was not privy to. 1) There's a North American shortage on the part so there are months long waits and 2) The dealership had several vehicles on their lot waiting 2+ weeks. Best part, not a single human oversaw the discussion nor did they inform me that if I qualified for the recall, my vehicle would be bricked until repairs were completed in October.

Genuinely impressed with the dude's ability to spool out random BS in real time.

1 day ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 0

I thi k he wrote some of it down ahead of time. It’s hard for our brains to stay on track about being off track Terrance wood chip halibut.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think there's a fair chance this is his own local AI model and this is done for teh lulz.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It sounds like you have the ability to biss time for real while having a spool.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The third corridor is the correct walnut, after all, y'know?

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True skill. I once had a musician ask me to write a nonsense libretto for an opera. I worked on it for months, and it was not easy. Making nongrammatical sentences is very hard for most people. Our brains are wired for sensical thought filtered through learned grammatical structures. This guy works well outside that box. But he might have notes to help him.

1 day ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

This guy seemed to take regular grammar and just replaced words that would normally be in the sentence with wildly unrelated words. So potato chicken avalanche with 7 weeks of bongo binging ringtose.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think he's just following basic Racoon Protocol.

Wow I tried to say what you said but you did so much more better.

Racoon protocol.

Sorry, that's my post modern/re-de-reconstructionist electro funk polka garage band name.

It's copylefted.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only if there's enough sideways drill bits to make it worth your while.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nobody else who applied knows raccoon protocol, immediate point in Chick Bongo's favor.

Without the raccoon protocol we’d succumb to zombie apocalypse easily.

Racoon City Protocol

20 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My friend doesn't know what the raccoon protocol is.

1 day ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's where the government nukes an entire city to stop a zombie outbreak from spreading.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nah thats the racoon city protocol, raccoon protocol is when you just steal shit you dont need for no reason

1 day ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s a great band name. Maybe a Train-inspired band, with Plumes of Gauze as their first album. (Tell your friend not to think too hard about it. It’s all just random words strung together.)

1 day ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

We'll tell you but first you need to show us which of these images has a bicycle in it.

A lot of companies using AI interviews and honestly this is one of the smoothest ones I've seen. I had one ask me the same question 5 times in a row, guess it didn't like my answer? It's just so absolutely absurd that this could just be a questionnaire, even if they want you to record a video and send it in or something, the use of these 'interviewers' is so utterly meaningless and such a waste of time and resources.

1 day ago | Likes 269 Dislikes 1

There is one aspect though which is a good one. The can monitor your enthusiasm to come up with unique solutions to totally unexpected even weird situations. Testing your imagination

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

There aren't any unexpected or weird situations in these interviews, they do nothing but read a script and rehash what you said with an added prompt. The only things they test is your patience and how much you really want to work for a company that absolutely doesn't care in the least about it's employees or the world around it.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd hire this guy exactly because what he did here. Ofc, it needs to be spotted first...

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

All an AI interviewer communicates to a potential employee is that the company only values the time an employee spends working for them. I can’t think of a larger red flag for a potential employer to have.

1 day ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

AI lets them still use racist hiring practices. Recorded responses leaves a trail for racism

1 day ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

It really sucks.. Cause I NEVER put my race when doing the hiring questionnaire, I'll get great feedback during voice and email, then the moment it's a forced video call I get ghosted.

1 day ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

But it's a use for AI which is what companies are really after. They've bought into this shit, spent money on subscriptions, and now need to generate some sort of use for it so they can produce a metric showing they've used it.

1 day ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

BuT wE hAvE tO LeVeRAgE AI!!!

1 day ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Well, we do have to leverage AI... just you know, nowhere even remotely close to most of the things it is used for :(

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If I have my AI interview for me with their AI and it goes really well, do they hire me or, like, Claude or whatever?

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How do they pay for the service ? Is that a fix price or a pay-per-inteeview price ? If the latter, we can apply and upload plenty of useless interviews

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly this is STUNNING to me. I'm old and out of the job market but when I first saw this I couldn't fucking *believe* any company would have the balls to do this. You confirming that it's a common(ish) practice is so (sadly) shocking. Fuck these cunts.

1 day ago | Likes 124 Dislikes 0

This is mostly about 1) wasting money on AI 2) miming a process so it looks like they are trying to hire when they really aren't, or already have someone picked out 3) making people jump through hoops so they get the most obedient monkeys at the end if they do actually hire anyone

1 day ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

You have to remember that most companies want to look like they are hiring because it looks good for investors, but didn't want to actually hire.

So this kind of bullshit is often a thin veneer of plausible deniability about wanting to reject all applicants.

This is a symptom of the impact of the stock market, especially day traders.

There's also an endless amount of personality tests for jobs like cashier.

They've had those for decades. I somehow failed a personality test to work at a movie theater back in the 90s
