So I was originally going to wait to open my SS gift, but I've had the worst week; between being busy with Christmas orders on my Etsy, and working my full time day job. So I felt like cheating a little, and opening it early. :)

I was honestly very surprised by the uniqueness of the gifts I was given! Everything here is handmade by Robert Rawls from Caney Creek Knifewares. I found it very fitting that my Secret Santa would be a creative maker person like myself, hehe.

This is such a gorgeous knife; I absolutely love the detailing on the top, it reminds me of an inverted space photo. The leather is positively gorgeous. I might have to incorporate this into a costume in the near future! It's funny, I used to collect small daggers/knives from local Renn faires when I was a teen, so this is right up my alley. :3

Very beautiful and extremely SMOOTH beads. That's all wood, some of which I've never seen before, so different and very stunning. He mentioned these come in handy as "worry beads";gonna see if these help with ridding myself of my nail biting habit by handling these instead of chewing my fingers, lol. It's nice to have something like this around when you have moderate anxiety. :)

Last, but certainly not least; wooden arrowheads. Why are these the most special to me? Well the one on the left is made from Hawaiian Koa wood. Backstory time; my mother met my dad in Hawaii, I was conceived in Hawaii, and born on the mainland. I didn't see my dad again till I was 14, spent a week in Hawaii getting to know him a little better, and then couple months after I went home to the mainland, he was murdered by his methhead neighbor. I've never quite figured out what to feel emotionally on the whole thing. I loved my dad, but I never really knew him as well as I'd like. And even weirder was he visited me in my dreams a few nights ago..

Anyways, this was definitely not what I was expecting from my SS, but damn if I'm not overwhelmed with positivity and completely blown away by the beauty of these handmade items. I will treasure them always. I might even give the second arrowhead to a friend, as friendship necklaces. ^_^

Merry Christmas, Imgur!

Isn't it?! It's just finished enough to look really well made, and a little rough on the edges to give it the handmade feel. :)

There was a lot of time and effort put into those gifts. Those are the ones that really mean the most. They did excellent work.

These actually mean so much more to me than the interests I had listed in my SS entry. Being a maker myself, I was ecstatic to receive these
