DIY Baseball Hoop and Backstop

Apr 23, 2017 1:10 AM

I have four boys and the nieghbor got tired of them hopping the fence to get those baskball- so we built this.

Welded steel frame off site in two pieces. Total size when assembled 15x15.

Strapping two frame halves together

Frame painted and cedar planks going up!

Built scaffold to install upper planks

Perfection!

That's a hell of a spite fence.

I'm not sure that is DIY to the vast majority, but it's very nice regardless.

How is it not DIY? He built it himself did he not?

It wasn't a shot at him. I'm just saying, for most people, welding is not a "DIY" skill.

We recently installed a few basketball towers for work. I hope your screen is strong enough being just bolted down.

You bolted yours down? I just balanced it in place.

All the towers are 1200mm min depth in ground and removable.

My way sounds easier ????. JK, each of the four uprights is bolted down with 4ea 12in anchors. Each upright has a brace running to footing.
