He has a hookshot! I'm double sold! Also, does this takes place in another colony? Or is it Earth?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It takes place across several different locations. So far, Phobos, Earth, and new areas of Hell have been confirmed.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm just hoping bodies vaporizing before they even hit the ground was a demo limitation. And that mapmaking is vastly improved. VASTLY.

They are rage, brutal, without mercy. But you. You will be worse. Rip and tear, until it is done.

But what if they're huge? They'll have huge guts!

I have some trust issues with this "real-time game play" videos.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm with you there, but Doom 2016 did a pretty good job of delivering on exactly the kind of gameplay that was shown in the original demo.

I chuckled when that gory-kill squashed the zombie's head into its shoulders and there was a *squeaky* like a dog toy. About the 12:22 mark.

#1 IS THAT A BIG FUCKING BFG? A BFBFG

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If Mick Gordon isn't coming back for the soundtrack y'all can just fuck right off and take your fake DOOM bullshit and stick it up yer butt.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

he has some snippets of the DOOM eternal soundtrack on his twitter so he's back.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watch the gameplay video. He is very much in attendance, and if he isn't, then someone's doing a DAMN good impression.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Will do. I avoid gameplay videos usually because... well... they're usually bullshit.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Has anyone played Doom on the Switch? Asking for a friend.... hang on! Asking for myself!!!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I have! My cousin's husband works for bethesda & gave me a copy for Christmas. Phenomenal & well done port. Would recommend a pro controller

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And they eventually patched in gyro controls for aiming.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, you can invade another player's game as a demon a la Dark Souls. And unlike DS you can disable this feature.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Did you notice the Revnant Demon was named D00t76?! Bethesda knows! DOOT DOOT!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They're putting in invasions like dark souls.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good to see the mortally challenged. And the BFG 10K

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

That shit made me damn near piss myself. Demon may be offensive.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think I speak for us all when I say "oh, SHIT"

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I am so fucking psyched for this. Game looks near perfect.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 2

I preferred the survival-horror focus back when it was on xbox, this game play has more the arcade feel of the original game.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Get get the fuck outta here with that shitty ass opinion man

My lady boner is throbbing with excitement.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I can't wait for this game. I didn't expect Id to make so many improvements to their masterpiece. I'm legitimately impressed.

8 years ago | Likes 294 Dislikes 1

I wonder if this was run on a console or a PC

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They played on PC. They made a point to play on a controller first, and then swapped to a mouse and keyboard to show off the gameplay.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 1

Y my PP hard?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The little updates to the art design are amazing. This is channeling 1&2 so well

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Just the fact they used the shotgun dudes and zombies faces from the originals is awesome.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

And the mancubi, the pain elementals, the plasma rifle... it's all spot on

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The only thing that I have to complain about is that the demons look less demon. But I guess it kinda makes sense if you look at the story

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Might want to look up the story about the original. Apparently the original plan was scrapped something like 6 months before release.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The one that looked like COD? Yeah, I saw it. In fact, I actually respected id more since they were willing to start over and get it right.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*bethesda

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

wait is this a new game or DLC?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whole new game. I think id may break a speed record for developing this. They usually take half a decade to make a game.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They even made a new idTech engine that allows 10× the geometric detail of idTech 6 while still being capable of running the game at 60fps.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm amazed that I can't see a single change I disagree with. As long as you can opt-out of invasions, it looks to be an objective upgrade.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They said you could. I intend to. I definitely wanna invade random players with my friends though.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Imagine how much it would suck to be playing UltraNightmare and get killed by another player, losing your one life and having to start over.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To do that, I'd need to imagine what kind of masochist would play on UltraNightmare with PVP enabled.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought 2016 was the furthest they could take it. Boy was I wrong. I just love the part where he mushes the demons head into its chest.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

That part of the video got a laugh from me.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The fact that every person in the control room is afraid of him is great.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Laughed my ass off at Doomguy taking the guard's gun without a word of argument from the guy.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I thought he would just RIP and tear that keycard off of him, just carefully pulls him along instead.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Doom Slayer may be a violent madman whitow manmers, but not an evil guy, he only kills those that deserve it

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I mean you save the ai in the first one. He puts the backup for it in your pocket.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You get a sword!!??

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Hmm yeeesss all those guts

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have a gauntlet mounted blade on your left hand.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The blade looks almost identical to that of the Crucible from Doom 2016, though the hilt is entirely different.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Would it be worth it to go play the first one? This looks badass!

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

The moment to moment gameplay is good, great movement physics, satisfying combat, but the level design is incredibly dull.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Dull and punishes collectors. The game heavily incentivizes exploration while locking doors behind you.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It also punishes non-collectors by forcing you to fragment and slow your pace if you want the interesting, fun to use upgrades.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Speaking as someone who has no love for "visceral" FPS games - YESYESYESYESYES. DOOM is absolutely amazing. Go play it!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm not a fan of FPS games whatsoever, but Doom 2016 was a fucking masterpiece.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's worth it for the soundtrack alone. But the actual game itself is a legit work of art.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s beautiful and the soundtrack is killer

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Absolutely. First one was incredible

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Yes, then go play Doom 2. Doom 3 is optional. Then you can play new Doom. Oh wait, you were talking about new Doom.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh my good, so much fun.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The...first one? You mean the 2016 game or the original doom from the 90's? Then again, either way the answer is "yes!".

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I dunno why they didn't want to call it Doom 4. It would have been just as awesome.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because while it kinda/possibly continues the original Doom 1 & 2 + Doom 64, but skips 3. Plus Doom 3 sucked...just my opinion though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It only sucked compared to other Doom games, really. It was still better than most games during its time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess it wasn't horrible but I didn't really get into it, didn't feel like Doom at all. Also, Half-Life 2 came out like two months later.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lore issues, while DOOM 2016 does pay homage to DOOM 3, there is really no connection.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

or they could take a play from apple and microsoft, and just skip all the middle shit and right to DOOM X.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think they already had a rough draft of "DooM 4" between DooM 3 and the 2016 game, but it was terrible so they scrapped it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely. On sale on Steam rn. Visceral, fast-paced balls-to-the wall action, far from the standard brown and gray cover shooters.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Brown and gray cover shooters haven't been a thing since like 2009.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

DONT FORGET THE BANGING SOUNDTRACK

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't expect a deep story though. There's lore if you listen and explore a bit but it's too over the top to take itself seriously.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The game knows you're playing it to kill demons so it lets you kill demons with very little down-time unless you want to hunt for secrets.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This needs to be a glory kill for every monster in the game. Imp, baron of hell, cyberdemon, doesn't matter.

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

I actually L'dOL at that particular scene.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"I wish to boop this creature!"

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Do not boop that merry suicide bomber

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vulkan, Nooooooooo

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Vulkan, yes!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think some will have some funny animations. The Cacodemon also swallow granates, you see it in the 11 min. (2:34) gameplay vid.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Bethesda keeping my child hood alive +1

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 4

They wouldn't happen to have my foreskin by chance would they?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From Daggerfall and Doom to Skyrim and... Doom.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wolfenstein, quake etc

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Id Software*

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

There's very little of id Software left that made it what it was. Might as well praise Bethesda by now, tbh.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Who work for..?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

The ghost of John Romero's talent?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Both. Id is the developer, Bethesda is the publisher.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

Okay, but when was the last time people praised EA for a good game they released?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

A few years ago, why

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I like Bethesda. They're my favorite publisher, but I feel that the dev team deserves being praised for the games that they made.
