Cases of cyclosporiasis, a stomach-churning parasitic infection known for causing explosive diarrhea, have now reached 45 states as infections climb well into the thousands.
There have been 6,707 laboratory-confirmed cases of the illness since May 1, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in its weekly update on Tuesday. There have been 423 hospitalizations and no deaths, per the agency.
Federal health authorities are still investigating the sources of what they believe to be multiple separate outbreaks, the largest of which is centered in Michigan.
The largest outbreak has been linked to iceberg lettuce grown by produce giant Taylor Farms in central Mexico, prompting the company to initiate a recall. Read more at the link in our bio.

I had it two or three weeks ago i think, not sure the source given the lengthy incubation time. The diarrhea thankfully wasnt too bad for me, not much worse than average food poisoning vs food borne illness ive had, but the muscle aches were terrible, it was super fucking weird, just my whole body ached from the tips of my toes to the top of my scalp. Given the minor diarrhea i didnt think id actually had it until i read about the muscle aches as a symptom too.

Keep in mind a lot of states see a low but regular number of cases of this disease every year, so if it's light blue, then it's probably NOT part of the outbreak

I wouldn't count on routine inspections being done or done well on farms owned by a company that gives money to Trump and seems to have some pull with him.
