Wow great job! Nice to see how much you care!

Imagine applying the same principle and care to a human

I didn't realize fish could be depressed.

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Depending on the fish, some have surprisingly complex social lives. We've even seen cross-species cooperation in hunting (morays & groupers)

I believe any creature left alone in captivity can feel despair.

I cried when my goldfish died. He was huge. Awesome fish

Your fish has a better life than many people. Happy you made his world better. Thank you for sharing @op.

I really think keeping fishes and birds in tanks and cages is a tolerated form of animal abuse

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 9

I hear you, but its one of those situations where the fish are already captive, so youre just trying to improve their quality of life. With/

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

/enought space and proper tank conditions, fish can really thrive and be happy in "captivity"

Its ok to eat fish 'cause they don't got any feelings.

I loved it

I would die for this fish!

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Goldfish are extremely hardy fish and can live a LONG time if taken care of properly and also they get HUGE. The black coloring is almost/

6 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

/positively ammonia burns from very poor water quality. With the entire fish black, its incredible he was able to survive. Great job @OP!!

6 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

thanks for the explanation!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The black color is almost definitely NOT burns. This is a Black Moor goldfish, they're naturally black, but it's not uncommon for them 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

to turn gold if their environment changes (for instance, more light, differently colored rocks, etc.).

6 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Ah youre right sorry. Was speaking from exp with comets didnt know that about Moors

Fish need large tanks, moving water, and varied healthy diets. They honestly need just as much love and care as any other animal great job!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wait, how does she know it’s a boy fish? Does he have a little fish stick?

Hah, I came to the comments to tag them too!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah fuck petshops they have no idea what the fuck they are doing

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I hate how I know that goldfish have longer lifespans than a week. Told that as a kid because we killed them all and they can live so long

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Why did you kill them all?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most people just put them in untreated tap water. That’s a no no.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because we were dumb kids and didn't properly take care of them. They handed out goldfish by the bag at most county fairs

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep, I hate how people think goldfish are "easy". Even some adult think it's normal for them to only live a few weeks. Pet goldfish can live

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

10-15 years, even longer. In the wild I think it's up to 40 years.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok the ones with the fat body type and crazy eyes are inbred to a great extent to get those features. They Can live a long time but 1(2)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not uncommon for one that looks great to die because they can be genetic time bombs. If you want a long lived fancy - get one from

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A goodreeder and put it in a huge tank. These body types don't occur in nature BTW.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Found a cracked tank with 3" of water in it by our apt dumpster with 2 large gold fish in it. Took them in and found a store that took them.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People are such dicks.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ammonia burns from the pet shop tank..well the black is scabs from the burns!! Awesome he came back with proper care and Love! ?

6 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 9

It's a black moor, not scabs.. Ammonia burns gills not scales. Black moors turning gold with age is not uncommon, its very common.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ammonia burns?!

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

From the water..Google it. Bad pet shop owners!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Getting downvoted for giving correct info. Typical imgur. Goldfish urine has more ammonia than most other fish so they need more filtration.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Wow! Thanks!.....

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's a black moor, they're naturally black. They can lose their black scales in response to environment changes.

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I thought it was a black moor.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

OP states its a goldfish. This does happen with poor water tank maintenance.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

The other fish in the tank is still gold.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Black Moors are a breed of goldfish.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So could this fish be healthy and still black?

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Yep its common to get healthy black goldfish - they rarely stay black, changing colour is normal for these

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

About half of mine turned gold. I thought they were sick when they did.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That makes me feel a little weird about how this video presents the blackness as a bad thing. Not that I'm reading into it too much :)

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

A lot of sad teen boys that I know could learn a lesson from this amazing fish. Getting a girlfriend won't fix your problems or save you.1/2

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Work hard on yourself and give yourself the care and love you deserve, then you are better suited to find the partner you deserve <3

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

(Not that loved ones can't be a tremendous help to us ? But self love is even more important)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, we're back at Step 1: be attractive

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lol! Well, physical attraction varies so much from person to person that it's basicaly impossible for anyone to be unattractive to everyone.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not to mention, pheremones and personality play a huge part in attraction. It doesn't just come down to appearance. :) Have hope!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed. I'm pretty ugly so I just stopped using deodorant and my pheremones get me all the ladies now.
