My buddy in Bengladesh just got scammed. A "banker" "from New York" told him an inheritance was waiting for him. When I told him it was a scam, he asked her "is this a scam" and she assured him that she was a good muslim woman and would never do that. She sent pictures of herself "at the bank" "with coworkers" as proof. And this was all done via FB messenger.... oh and her work email was [bank name]@gmail.com. he still didnt believe me that it was a scam.

My doctor brother found out his attending during residency was being scammed hard on some nigerian prince style scam. The guy was so proud of his accomplishment and had been helping the prince and his subjects for years. The last day he broke the news to him. The guy had given over a hundred thousand over time. Had pictures in his office. My brother found them on google images by searching "starving african kids" he still didnt believe it. Old doc was old :/

I can get a person falling for these,i can't get is who knows who Brad pitt is NOT seeing the con when to send him large amounts of money. Some are desperate and lonely and very non tech savvy, and have no idea what ai can do as far as videos. But as soon as Brad freaking Pitt needs a few hundred thousand, THAT SHOULD TELL YOU IT'S A SCAM!! Short of very severe mental disabilities/dementia i really can't see how that would make sense
