Bucket list destinations

Jun 22, 2016 4:11 AM

Bucket list, bucket list, bucket list, parking lot. One of these things is not like the others.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I like how there are all these beautiful destinations in foreign countries that one should see, and America gets a car park

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

#6 That's not skiing.

10 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

snow skateboard

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you put those together it makes "snowboard". Neat huh?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

H 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

STEP 1) Be rich

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Step 2: have lots of time to waste

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of all the things in the USA, you pick Death Valley and a Parking lot.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

having been through Death Valley, it's pretty freaking dull. In CA you could however see, the oldest, largest and tallest trees in the world

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"See all the most expensive tourist-oriented places!" Seriously, there's more to travelling than that.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

As a native born Chicagoan, we don't have a "Willis Tower" anywhere in the confines of our great city.

Stand with one foot in Utah, one foot in New Mexico, shit in Arizona and piss in Colorado.

10 years ago | Likes 763 Dislikes 13

Shit in Utah and piss in New Mexico. FTFY.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

NEW MEXICO REPRESENT

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Apparently we have some fans of two of the shittiest states in the West.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Best border In the U.S.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks like a challenge I'm willing to take.

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Then discover somebody did it the other way round, one foot in Arizona, one foot in Colorade just before your attempt.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The Broncos won the Super Bowl, piss in New Mexico instead.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You're my kind of person

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hmm, done that.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wasn't that a scene in the movie Vacation?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No one is stopping you from pissing in all 4 states. Shitting is a bit riskier, but possible if you are brave enough.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Given it's now a gated tourist attraction on the reservation, someone will probably stop you.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Once I start the flow there is no stopping

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 214 Dislikes 3

so perfect..

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Shit and piss in all four states by doing a spin as you relieve yourself.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Actually, drop your boulders in Colorado and piss on AZ please. Shit's on fire, yo.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why are you pissing in Colorado?!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

"It's the water."

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*Coors light

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cause fuck the donkeys, that's why.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

FUCK YOU

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right, Colorado is awesome.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Smell the scenic steel mill in Cleveland, Ohio!

10 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I like how this started with real names and slowly became "Underwater building!" and "This mountain I found off Google images!"

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

The world's largest swimming pool, right next to the ocean?

10 years ago | Likes 367 Dislikes 11

also that picture is from dubai not chile

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ocean there is painfully cold, and currents and waves are dangerous for swimmers and little boats ('pacific' ocean, yeah right)

10 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 0

Can confirm. Lived there for a couple years and experienced both the ocean and pool.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I read it too fast ,and now I want to go swimming in the largest pool of chili.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yea, that part of the coast is extremely dangerous. Where most coasts have a long costal shelf to soften waves Chile's is extremely short

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have a pretty severe fear of the ocean, but absolutely adore swimming, so I'm glad something like that exists.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Imagine how long it would take to drain if someone shit in it

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...ok let's say it's the second largest

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The pool is ocean water though, just calmer (as in: no currents etc.) and heated.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Largest swimming pool in Chile*

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

*largest swimming pool that happens to be in a private condo, in Chile

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Largest swimming pool by surface area in the world is in Chile*

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

no, that is in egypt, built in 2015. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_swimming_pools the one in chile is second largest

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fuck.. No.5 is in Pakistan.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yep. BUT, one can swim only in the little pools on the sides, the rest is for boats.

10 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 8

that sucks

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No, you can swim in the whole thing. Was there in 2010 and can confirm this. The little pools are for wading, kids and chilling out.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I ve read something from a travel site, maybe their info is outdated.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Soooooooo.... a boat pool, next to the ocean...

10 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 2

It's called Capitalism. And it's awesome.

10 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 12

Im not sure if you're being sarcastic or if there actually are people that say things like that.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Is there something wrong with capitalism?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I was sarcastic.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Seriously? Plastic bottle parking lot? Way to phone it in USA

10 years ago | Likes 176 Dislikes 2

The 2nd biggest piece of shit in this picture article after the fake British swimming pool that doesn't exist. Yeah go for the parking lot..

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey, if you don't like it might I suggest a hike through Death Valley. I hear it's great this time of year

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Or walk around in Chicago. Same effect

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I feel like the Grand Canyon should make just about every sightseeing bucket list

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Just went 2 days ago.... I vehemently agree!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't drive across town to see either of those plastic bottle things, much less travel internationally.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey, we also have Chicago, so....there's that....I guess.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Went to Chicago and got mugged

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Come see the renamed tower, and look upon one of our eh cities!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a Chilean, there are LOTS and better places to visit here than that pool.

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Come jump off our bridges - New Zealand

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Nice to know the British one is something we haven't got around to building yet

10 years ago | Likes 217 Dislikes 0

Ad the USA one was a parking space.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well what you really get trying to check this one off is the disappointment, and that's quintessentially British.

10 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 1

Must be the highway agency building it. Target date: 6 weeks, reality: 16 months.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It probably never will be built. Structurally, its extremely stupid.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Right? How do people not realize that's a piece of concept art for a project... biggest pet peeve on the internet. It's not real, morons.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

At least it says it's a concept. Just don't know why it's included on the list.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Little confused on that myself. What exactly do you go and see? The buildings the picture was based on?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shit the US apparently has a parking space. Fuck all those national parks and monuments.

10 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

Did you miss Chicago & Death Valley?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

No, I'm just kind of curious as to why a parking spot is better than literally thousands of other cool things.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

"Fuck going to Big Sur, they want the parking lot."

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mt. Everest? Naw Daddy, that's boring. Let's go see the plastic bottles at the beach and the parking lot!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Wanna go to Yellowstone?" "Nah mate parking lot with plastic bottles."

10 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't even consider it for my top 1000 locations

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#5 is dangerous as fuck, and is NOT recommended by the Norwegian tourist board. It's not an amusement park. It's nature. Nature isn't safe.

10 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 2

Im gonna do it

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nature is gonna kill you: no one has gotten away so far. Only questions are when and where.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was there last year, there's a long line of people waiting to take their picture out there. And in september a woman died there :/

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True, tourists have died from time to time, being the idiot they were. Not from falling, but the insane decrease of speed at the bottom.

10 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Only now you just made me realize that falling has never killed anyone. It's what happens after you stop falling. Mind. Blown.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Even falling in love with Ted Bundy didn't do it. The only women he came across that he didn't kill were his GFs.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, no one come to Canada. I like visiting the beautiful spots with no tourists.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

And you stay away from Chicago and Detroit and Death Valley. Deal?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wanna go to Chicago, play watch dogs. Wanna go to Death Valley play mad max. Want to go to Detroit play Fallout. Sounds like a good deal

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Oktoberfest is actually just a million of tourists puking, there are nicer and cheaper beerfests. Actually almost every city has one.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

And it has the rape rate of a war zone.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just checked the cheapest rate for a water bungalow in the maldives. $1100 a night......

10 years ago | Likes 149 Dislikes 2

Well I guess that one's not going on my list... It probably smells like dead fish anyways...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even if they went out of their way to apply fresh fish smell every hour it wouldn't be worth $1100 a night.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Come back to this comment if you ever come into a lot of money. I use to use to think the same way until I got a high paying job.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Here's a list of some affordable water bungalows. http://www.priceoftravel.com/992/the-11-cheapest-overwater-bungalow-resorts-in-the-world/

For some reason it takes you past the list on the page so make sure you scroll up to see the list!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's so oppressively expensive I nearly downvoted you. But I didn't. Have an upvote

10 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

dani52885 found me a low price resort for 283 a night from july 1-5. not bad! i just have to pay $4417 round trip for my gf and I in airfare

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I stayed at the hotel in Dubai with the aquarium it was similarly priced at 1500-2000k a night

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea yea at 2000000 I might as well just buy a house there.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bet it'll make one Hell of a honeymoon though. I'd pay 3,000 to bang my wife in one for a weekend.

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

For $1100 a night she better let you do butt stuff.

10 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 3

Ass play in a water bungalow in the Maldives? Yasssssssss!

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Don't forget the Giants Causeway in Ireland! Naturally formed hexagonal spires.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

In fact don't waste your time on the causeway. Lived for 30 years within 2 hours of it without seeing it. Bitter disappointment .

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Then you can swim across to Fingal's Cave in Scotland, the "other end" of the Causeway. But don't swim really. U will die.

Mt Hua. Did this last year with my brothers. Exhilarating yet sketchy as hell

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Awesome... I was thinking about doing this one actually. Care to elaborate a little more?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I can answer any specific questions let me know!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry for the late reply. Mt Hua is gorgeous. Take the gondola up and hike the rest of the way. The plank walk is 20 minutes out and back

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did the path feel rickety/falling apart? How about the chains? It looks fairly safe clipped in... Also, can you bring your own harness?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am obviously very terrible at replying...the path felt very sturdy, but it's definitely not a smooth path. Depending on how trusting you

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And I'm not sure about bringing your own harness, but I would imagine not. The harnesses they have up there are perfectly suitable and safe

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

are, the chains are perfectly OK. I wouldn't lean out on on them because I don't desire that much of a rush, but plenty of people do.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There're way better things to do in Germany, then drink beer on the Oktoberfest in Munich.

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

Don't go there for drinking, go there for the beer mug brawls.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

wacken for example ;)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

oh hell yeah. I would rather go to a techno club in Hamburg. That would be so fun.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Still, Oktoberfest is quite the experience plus it's known around the world so it's something you can later relate to others you meet

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And beerfests where 1L of beer is less than 11 Euro.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm from the USA. We have a place to park.

10 years ago | Likes 145 Dislikes 3

I'm from the UK, we apparently have a swimming pool concept. But not the actual swimming pool. But we'll get to it after we finish our tea.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"Two buildings" I hope one day you guys can have 3. Lol

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Right? Where's the Grand Canyon and the redwood forests and Old Faithful and all the other amazing stuff we have?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm from Australia, we didn't even make the list!

10 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

I heard you guys are building your first theme park which is awesome! You should make a new list and add that to it.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We already have theme parks but which one are you talking about? Is it Disney?! Please tell me it's Disney

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That would be neat but no, I heard it was a water park which is nuts considering the water issues there. You guys already have theme parks?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Queensland they have sea world, wet and wild world and Warner bros movies world. There's probably a few other smaller water parks 1/

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i had a 16 day vacation in Australia. It was incredible.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm glad to hear that. What did you do? Where did you go?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Went all over the eastern side, and spent probably 4 days in the outback. From Brisbane to Melbourne. did all the touristy stuff.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Cool, I've never actually been to the outback. :)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

rode my first horse in the outback, and it was attacked by another horse, threw boomerangs with Aborigines, got knocked out from it.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Can't even afford that igloo and I fucking live in Finland...

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

It's got to cost thousands a night I would think.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn, is it really that expensive? It looks cozy af!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There are spas in the Midwest that cost $2000 a night, there's no way this isn't at least 4k USD. The cost of heating that....

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Off of my list then :/

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

actually, i just checked and its starts from 300 euros a night for two with breakfast, at least double in winter though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can you see the northern lights there? The northern lights are on my bucket list. It's the entirety of my bucket list actually.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I suppose. You don't need an expensive hotel for that and also can't know for sure they will be around for a certain night.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But they're fairly common in Lapland, sometimes you can see them in middle or southern Finland as well!

Kickstarter idea: raise money, buy the building, change name back to what it's supposed to be. Who's in?

Blackstone just bought the building for $1.5 BILLION, and they probably expect a handsome return... not sure we could pull that off ;)

Not bad! Imgur has ~150M users. So if we each give just $10, we'll have 1.5B. Totally doable.

I don't care what paperwork, signs, ownership, or the law have to say. It is and forever will be the Sears tower damnit!

I'm from Nebraska, and even I refuse to acknowledge Willis Tower.

Then you're an honorary Chicagoan, put ketchup on a hotdog to cancel

Everyone was calling it Willis when I went last, first time I found out about the name change. Broke my heart every time.

My cabbie did when I went. I asked to be taken to the sears tower. His response "which one". He thought I wanted to go to sears.

I had to look up the fact that the name had been changed. He then knew exactly where I was going

Had the same thing happen to me in an Uber. They were like "you mean the Willis?"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Which sears?!?" still kills me all I could respond was "the big one" because I was so dumbfounded

I can't imagine the arrogance of the asshole that decided to change it.
