The strategic application of ethanol may help bypass unwanted routines, but is not recommended for prolonged use, and may harm other installed hardware.
I'm sorry, I've tried Brain! and it requires daily upkeep in the form of protein as well as a lot of down time to keep up. Also, pretty sure the "create dopamine" "create seratonin" and "acknowledge melatonin" routines are broken.
"When I use Brain, it enters low power mode within 6 to 8 hours and has an excessive recharge time. Using Screen I can go several times as long, with the same downtime."
Those subroutines are still present and they still get called but there's a kernel level issue with a lot of hardware that causes these routines to error out randomly. Brain is robust enough to continue operation in spite of the errors but it does negatively impact performance for a lot of users. There's a huge variety of third party fixes but those can be expensive and aren't reliable for all users.
