We're so fucked.

Yes, yes we are.

We need to start [REDACTING] people.

5 days ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

If we *censored* the right people it might only take 10k of so to invoke world wide changes.

You're discounting the shareholder value that was created, surely that's worth it.

Peace be upon them

alarming fact, the summer following an el nino is always much hotter than the summer of... we're fucked

5 days ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

This summer in New England has been surprisingly mild. On average it barely got above mid 80s.

Thanks to the fires in Canada.

I'm still waiting for the critical de-salinization point where the ocean currents switch and throw us into another ice age, and we all flee to Mexico

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you're referencing the Day After Tomorrow scenario, it won't go down like that. The North Atlantic Current is threatening to shut down in a similar way, but the upside down hurricanes over land bit sucking super cold air from the upper atmosphere bit is not actually a thing. Europe will get a lot colder, but not the rest of the world.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really? I was simply referencing a movie as a way of joking about the whole situation. Not making a factual statement in any way.

C’mon rain

Nice normal week in Arizona. Bit cloudy. But otherwise OK. 47C for 2-3 days.

When will it get to be called “El Hermano”?

Nah, only South America, Afria, Southeast Asia, Australia, with either massive droughts or massive flooding (or both, in succession). So just 60% of humans. The rest will only see mild weather catastrophes...

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You think a huge portion of North America isn't already going through droughts? Idiot.

4 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also I think after seeing this everyone needs to stop doomscrolling, myself included. Like rational people are aware of all this, we ain't the problem and the only way to prevent the earth dying at this point is to get rid of the people and companies causing it.

This is how I feel about 50% of what I see on Imgur. I’m just here for the baby goats in pajamas or whatever.

Frankly only two things can help in Western countries: stop the right wing by *all* means necessary, and force left wing policies and enact ecological projects that can mitigate the catastrophe.

One raindrop raises the sea. Vote with your money for the world you want. Vote with actual voting. Call your reps about issues, they represent you! Email them! If enough people say something... they'll act! If you are able to volunteer time or money... do so! Join a community planting event... it does actually make a difference! Communities working together make meaningful change. Many hands make light work... be some of those hands!

It is only 'not' too late at this point, to just 'hold' at the current level of climate change. We cannot reverse it at this point. Sadly, our only option is to drag out the death of everything long enough that we can develop tech to actually start to reverse it. Except that does not make anyone money so... ya good luck with that. Guys with the biggest stacks ain't letting go.

At some point, we'll cross the threshold for the algae and plankton, and there'll be a massive wave of death that spreads through the entire ocean. The entire world will collapse over a few short weeks.

Toxic algae be like:

We can then dance about and cheer cuz we 'WIN' as the one race that got the highest kill count. :/ (Yea, we are all dead, but we are enjoying a slow, torturous, cancerous death. All cuz back in the 70-80's we couldn't bear to see a few rich guys earn slightly less each second than they did, all so that a few guys that already owned more than god didn't get sad. Humanity is dumb as fuuuuuuck, the greed of such a small amount of us has allowed our entire planet to die.)

You act like the common person wanted this.

We never did.

They used their wealth to gain control and more wealth.

Ocean only make most of the oxygen we breath, whats the problem...

5 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and the the sulphide builds up and releases and you have both purple ocean effect and land mass extinction events. sulpher in the air kills the ozone layer and the acid rain kills the plant life.

Worst season finale ever.

*Distinctly recalls the Dinosaurs finale...*

They blew the whole series' CGI budget on that, and now we can't afford any more flashy cataclysms, just these low-VFX collapses.

What do you mean ? The world waters don't all heat up at the same time, how could that spread throughout the ocean ? It ain't a virus or something of the sort (yet...)

5 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 9

And even viruses need specific enviromental conditions to spread

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All the oceans are connected. All basins are warming up at the same time.

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Being linked is not the only parameter dude ... that's like saying the sun is at the same temperature everywhere because there is no land between its regions -_-'
Don't you know fluid mechanics ? Do you realize the amount of water there is ? Influenced by massive currents going kilometers deep and thousand of kilometers far, under sheets of ice tens of meter high. Affected by opposite seasons between north and south.

https://www.mercator-ocean.eu/bulletin/ocean-temperature-bulletin-july-2026/

Read Section 3: ‘Sea Surface Temperature Anomalies’ for a detailed report of the temperature elevation in each ocean.
