Seriously though, I approve of this. Circus' are the cruelest industries for helpless animals, and this seems like an amazing alternative!

FP edit: woo thanks y'all. Take care of your animals, and that includes your kids!

To be fair, a circus with a budget for this, could probably afford to not be cruel to real animals too.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So sad technology is taking the jobs away from those poor animals! What's next holographic Hispanics jumping the border? Where does it end?

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

That sounds like a skit you'd see on Futurama.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Give it time, PETA will find something to bitch about

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

PETA is the last group that can speak out against mistreatment of animals; A few dumpsters full of corpses of animals they rescue shows this

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hate what you want you judgmental hairless apes, I've seen Circus animals that have a better life than most others. Including some of you.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

"Holy shit! That guy just put his head in the holographic lion's head! This circus is lit as fuck" -nobody

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

I love hearing how cruel circuses are to their animals...from people who have never worked at a circus.

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

While I support the movement, it’s a little sad to be part of the last generation to get the last genuine circus experience.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

couldnt they just not be cruel to the animals?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A lot are, but when it's shown, people just change the meaning of cruel and start to complain again.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is amazing, but you guys don’t want any part of this v

7 years ago | Likes 161 Dislikes 3

Sony does.

7 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

and by that you mean disney wants MORE money and sony was like FUCK YOU!!!

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

They both deserve bankruptcy so they can make way for people who care about the product and the consumer, not the "revenue."

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

For those about to say "aren't they the same thing?" You're missing a vital part of the picture which English has no exact word for.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

give it up dude we willingly embrace media monopolies.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

So what are we gonna do with all those domesticated animals?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seems like a lost opportunity. Why is it not a circus for unicorns, gryphons & dragons?!

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean, if you're not going to show anything real, you might as well, right?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pfft. Nothing new. According to the new dumbo movie they were doing that like 100 years ago

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pink elephants! That would be a great hologram show!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Idk kinda seems like it defeats the whole purpose

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Soon, it may be all we have left of some animals. Holograms and old footage

I have high hopes for cloning. May not see it in my lifetime, but it warms my heart that we may be able to bring back recent extinctions.

7 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

They have started cloning and breeding white rhinos in the hopes of restoring the species

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can't clone a viable ecosystem

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Or socially learned behaviors

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The destruction of the current animals on the planet does the opposite of warm my heart.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Not as cool as a Blue Oyster Cult laser light show back in the day, but still pretty cool

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is it even a circus if it doesnt stink like elephant piss?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

v

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or... real animals but we treat them KINDLY?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It's Circus Roncalli

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Circuses that travelled with animals used to be cool before color photos and videos and every large city having a zoo.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is NOT cool. It's lame as hell

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 8

As much as I do not like animal cruelty, I would go just to see holograms.

7 years ago | Likes 388 Dislikes 11

Some of us have fun there.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As much as I do like animal cruelty, I would go just to see holograms.

7 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

We could recreate animal cruelty by abusing the holograms. Then everyone wins.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd hate to sound racist but, your sentence made no sense

7 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

I'm confused what that'd have to do with racism?

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

“As much as” means “despite the fact that”, so maybe you mean something else?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think they’re trying to say that this is something cool they would like to see, and it’s a bonus that it helps fight animal cruelty.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That sentiment makes sense to me, which is why I think they meant something other than “as much as”.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My buddy used to work on the Ringling Bros. circus train. The animals were very well taken care of.

7 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

Like what? Did they get hookers and blow? I think not.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This! Because they closed down, there are no baby elephants being born in America and it’s hurting the population. :(

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

"NA NA NANA I DONT WANT TO HEAR THAT NANANA NA NA" - collective internet outrage

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

I mean, I wouldn't call it cruelty. But they're probably better off on a reserve, anyway.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Are they actually Holograms? Something that size would be super high tech. I'm guessing they're maybe simple Pepper's Ghost effects.

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Of course not, it's a high tech Pepper's Ghost, nothing more...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Having viewed several videos on YouTube, this is high resolution projection on translucent screens. Impressive, but far from truly 3D.

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

If it looks like a duck...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I have to wonder, is it impossible to have a circus WITH live animals AND treat them well? You'd think at least someone would try it.

7 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

I guess the idea is that forcing them to do circus tricks isn't exactly treating them well.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As long as they're not dangerous or excessively strenuous tricks, I can't imagine them being worse off performing than in the wild.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ringling Bros did this for the last few decades, didnt matter they still were put out of buisness by activists.

7 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I saw a little family circus that had two dogs that performed. I'm hopeful that was humane

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Do they have a hologram of an infinite number of clowns getting out of a Volkswagen?

7 years ago | Likes 1584 Dislikes 4

Sir Wide Bottom!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That should be the teaser/entertainment in the lobby.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

"She's stuck on an infinite loop and he's an idiot. That's love for you."

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Me and my alternate personalities getting out of my car after a long day at work should suffice

Aside from people trying to stay until the show is over, that sounds pretty cool.

No, no. Nobody is worried about cruelty to clowns.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, but they do have a shower with a certain amount of people getting in but not getting out.

I don’t think they were digging at modern Germany tbf.

I know enough to point out that you're German, anyone else would have a big hearty chuckle about my joke.

7 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 10

I’m American, not of German extraction. Anything else you want to take a wild guess at?

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 31

Can I guess that you don't have a sense of humor?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I don't need to take a guess anymore, you're American. I would be surprised if you even managed to find Germany on a map.

7 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

Technically they do come back out....

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well crap.

7 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I mean. I am against animal cruelty as well. But if I am not going to see the real thing, I'd rather just watch on tv.

7 years ago | Likes 134 Dislikes 23

The holograms would be a wonderful sight, if the technology is as great as I’d hope,

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It would be a great sight but not for the same audience haha. I think different people go to this than the real animal one

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I’m not mistaken the circus was also meant to be a sight no one had ever seen in person before, zoos have animals (maybe not dancing)

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Zoos don’t have multi-billion dollar hologram machines

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I deleted my first reply because I misread your comment haha. The circus has been around awhile now though so I don't think the circus crowd

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’d be a little cooler to see it in person, because you could be half an inch from it and not risk being killed by an elephant

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You'd rather see animal cruelty on TV?

7 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 11

Smells better. Bonus

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

As a German: If they don't want to show animals, they'd just go artists only like others did. I'm not going to the circus to watch a movie.

7 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

A hologram is not a movie. Maybe unless you are a person from the 22th century.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 16

This isn't even a real hologram. It's a movie projected on a semi-translucent, cylindrical screen. A glorified "Pepper's Ghost" if you will.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thank you, my dog messed up the keybart.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Isn’t the whole appeal of live circus animals the chance that a lion or tiger can go crazy and eat a guy? Holograms don’t give you that

7 years ago | Likes 207 Dislikes 15

You've obviously never seen Macross Plus

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's why some of us watch Nascar, to see glorious car wrecks at over 100 mph. :D

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Crazy holograms might

7 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

Tigers don't go crazy, they go Tiger. (Chappelle)

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, not with THAT attitude.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not really appealing though to know the animal would be put down for that.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If they could guarantee that the cruel people would get eaten/stomped to death by the animal, I think ur on to something!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That’s why they have Bob.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

until the holodeck goes on the fritz and all the projections become real and have a blood lust
