She’s just strategically preparing for her next campaign. “Running towards the middle” is a classic move that many candidates who have been firmly on one side of the political spectrum prior to a campaign where one hopes to earn independent voters’ trust. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was zero authenticity behind her recent shift, but yet another transparent ploy.
Agreed. Technically her "release the files" campaign, all she did was leak early what the entire party (sans -1) was going to agree to a week later, including Droopy Donald. I imagine just to get some sort of redeeming street cred on the way out.
"Oh I am receiving threats because I didn't agree with Trump, it's terrible," she said to all the people who have been receiving threats for not agreeing with Trump for over a decade!
It's WWE. One week two folks are allies. Next week they're enemies. Bombard the audience with stupid plot and never explain or question anything. The audience will forget by next week. Inundate them with stupidity, that way you control the narrative.
As a longtime wrestling fan, nothing annoyed me more than WWE pretending like the stuff that I watched a year ago never happened. Even as a kid that annoyed me.
Look a lot of people have been giving this woman shit, a LOT. We can do better than that, we can BE better. We can give her at least 30% more shit for everything she's done.
AOC - “She’s carefully timing her departure just 1–2 days after her pension kicks in and after making millions of dollars insider trading stocks for weapons manufacturers and others while in office. She is saying a lot but her ACTIONS have not backed up the rhetoric. For all her talk, she’s STILL voting with them to gut healthcare and advance self-dealing corruption schemes!”
A lot of what she's saying and doing right now is right, but that's why it's always important to remember that you can't trust people who come to the right conclusions by the wrong reasons. I'm not even saying we need to politically attack her, just that she can't be trusted and it's likely this era of her being (partially) correct will not last.
I think we all have to be more accepting of when people do turn a leaf and change for what we perceive to be for the better. That doesn't mean what they've done in the past is now excusable and forgotten.
exactly. That's all they care about. Now we get to pay taxes to keep her alive while she's fully able to work. Not to mention she will continue making money somewhere else
She attacked the left for years and never felt threatened. Two weeks of disagreeing with the bulk of her own party a she has security details. The most telling point of this entire saga.
Hahahaha. Say it to my face. I’m so sick of this BS where we are simultaneously terrorizing cities with protests and push overs.
Seriously though the GOP holds both chambers of congress. You wanna talk elected pushovers?
In what world do you look at America today and go “oh yea, it’s those lazy dems at it again” … seriously? Give me one actual factual or legitimate reason for saying this. Fuck I’m sick of people saying shit just to feel important.
Because the dnc is constantly betraying and frankly not representing you at all and face barely any consequences for it. Schumer has been doing his bullshit for far too long. And when bush stole the election you guys did nothing.
That right there highlights the the gop mindset. Thinking that bluster, insults, threats and violence is somehow toughness. And then view civility as weakness. “The leopards will never eat MY face” Tragic mindset
And let’s not forget she was worth 700k when she took office and her public net worth is now approximately 25 MILLION. Now she wants taxpayer money to fund her lifestyle for the rest of her life while she sits on her market manipulated nest egg. The grift is real.
She doesn’t need the pension but I do understand having the safety net. Source: Yahoo Finance https://share.google/8jtv7XCofBHzxNO09. Plus her net worth has gone up by over 24 million in 5 years.
As of October 1, 2022, the average annual FERS pension for retired members of Congress was approximately $45,276 - but she can’t receive it until she is 62. Still, not bad for future planning.
I learned that she's resigning, and the thought of not having to see her screeching like a baboon whenever a Democrat speaks has made me happy enough to upvote it. Is there any other lesson here that we didn't already know?
Still not any new information there. Liberals (at least the Dems) have tried to compromise with conservatives as their main strategy for "dealing with their opponents." Unfortunately, we already knew that they're incredibly weak, and that they're more centrist than leftist, but in a 2-party system, there aren't many other viable options. Changing the system is just a pipe dream, and getting actual liberals that will hold to their promises and values into office has been difficult.

I think she was the January 6th bomber and certain people on Trump’s team threatened to release proof of it to punish her disloyalty.

doing a quick search, how does she qualify for a pension. She's only been there for like 6 years now and she's not 62?
MadamPuddifoot
They get it after 5 years. Her 5th year is January 3rd, 2026.

They get the pension after five years, it kicks in at 62.

Definitely not what would equate to surviving wages; the equivalency of excess into thriving wages is likely more accurate.
