I also want to point out that this came from the NRCC, the primary organization responsible for electing Republicans to congress. Think about that for a moment. These are the ideals and goals held by the organization wanting to get Republicans into our government. And if you look deeper, that also shows us what the NRCC thinks is the driving force behind the voters they are targeting.

It's been fairly obvious over the past 5 or so years what kind of people we're dealing with on the other side of aisle. Those who vote for Republicans have either demonstrated their commitment to these ideas, or have decided that that kind of commitment isn't a deal breaker. Either way, it's not possible to change their mind. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. The ONLY way to fight this, is to vote, and convince others to vote, in such overwhelming numbers that it shows everybody that those ideas need to stay in the distant past. Eventually the batshit insane arm of the Republican party will die out, once their realize how much of a losing strategy it is.

god always needs more money.

Which step of the genocide scale are we at now? This has gotta be like a quarter step in the wrong direction in one statement.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Anyone who begins a statement by calling you "Patriot" is a major red flag

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

anything called "patriot" or "liberty" or "freedom" is bullshit trying to sell you something.

How is sending him money gonna help to stop God from smiting our kids?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hank Williams Jr had a song with lyrics I don't quite remember but it went something like "They ask you to send money to the Lord, but they give you their address."

But that's his argument. Despite presumably having never read the Bible--or having intentionally and maliciously ignoring most of it--Johnson is pushing for an actual theocracy, and has been quoting as saying the Constitution says nothing about keeping the Bible out of government, and that it should be not just held with government, but used directly alongside it to rule.

Isn't there separation of church and state. Shouldn't he be, I don't know, fined or run out of town for throwing religion into his public function ?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

if those assholes could read anything other then their abridged version of the bible they would be confused and angry!

I really miss the days when genocidal rhetoric had consequences and was something to be ashamed of, not something the 3rd(?) in line for the presidency should be proudly shouting

This coming from the guy that gets off thinking about his underage son jerking off

That level of mental delusion should be disqualifying from serving in public office. If I started demanding donations to prevent ghosts from attacking our schools, I would be laughed out of office.

If your god is so great why do you need money ? For everyone's sake when the time comes USE YOUR VOTE TO GET RID OF THE ASSHOLES

Sounds like extortion. "If you don't give us money this will happen."

#1 Send money so that the GOP can fight the battle that God is unwilling or unable to fight. What a bunch of fuck wits!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This equating of religion and politics is likely a big part of why fewer believers are found in younger generations. The GOP is so nakedly hateful that fewer want to associate with them. If turning from the GOP means turning from God, then many will happily leave both.

There's also the fact that the values taught in Sunday School to so many young ppl (elder millennials on down), those espoused by Jesus, are routinely ignored or even refuted by so many churches today. These young ppl are smart enough to see the hypocrisy and left the pews in droves. They have more open, inquisitive, tolerant mindsets so they naturally gravitate to whatever party embodies progressive inclusive values. This all fuels the religious divide we see in our two political parties.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

It's access to information thanks to the internet also. It used to be that when a young person had doubts and questions about their faith, they'd go to their parents or their priest, and get the bullshit answer. These days they ask the internet. And bullshit answers are still abound, but the truth is also on the internet. Science, maths, engineering, geography, etc.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Probably more apt critical thinking than just providing information.

There are no more atheists and LBGTQ+ kids than before. They just aren't afraid for their lives for coming out.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But republicans are trying to fix that, apparently. As a Christian I am deeply ashamed at the behaviour of some of us. Honestly, even though I go out of my way to be an ally (something which I feel Christ would have done) I am starting to understand why there's such a hatred for Christians out there.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I assume you mean that they intend for these people to fear for their lives again. Other than executing those groups, it's the only "fix" they could do.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, i was being sarcastic when I said 'fix'. Republicans can't actually fix anything. They excel, however, at laying blame over things they themselves have broken.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is Westboro Baptist level idiocy. How did this pencil necked geek get anywhere near a position of authority and power ?

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Dedicated interest groups are capable of achieving some fairly exceptional political victories, and the religious right in particular is very potent, active, and motivated. They also have a few billionaires on their side, who can tip the balance through soft power within political organization movements. The left, lacking billionaires, doesn't really have the kind of fundraising power or organizing centres (also, often very busy with purity politics).

Because of apathetic voters…they get in at local levels and work their way up.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Remember that it's the local and state elections that determine things like how badly a state gets gerrymandered. Vote in every election.

My uncle died over a year ago and I was the executive of his estate, so I get his mail. He must have been a Republican (despite him being closeted), as I get all of this stuff in his mail. Every other day I get letters asking for donations, with all this doom and gloom about Biden and the LGBTQ. As a Democrat, I have only been asked to donate a few times, and only for like $15.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

From an outsider view... the ppl of the USA tend to make a business&Cpompetition out of everytthing, get more donatations as the opponent.. and in this case, the GOP as a party has the problem that Trump drilled in their Donations swamp, and drains the donations in his name into TRUMP Reservoir, and wont split with the GOP.

Why does these T(R)aitors think they are "Patriots"?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

becasue if they arent patriots then theyre the bad guys, and their cognitive dissonance wont let them think theyre the bad guys.
