Today marks the anniversary of Operation Neptune, the first in a series of assaults upon occupied Europe, encompassing what was called the Great Crusade, to liberate Europe from Nazi rule.
One hundred, fifty six thousand soldiers boarded the boats in the cold morning, supported by almost two hundred thousand sailors of various nations, for the crossing of the English Channel into Normandy. By the end of the day, four thousand, four hundred and fourteen of them would be dead, over ten thousand wounded, and many more missing.
By August 30th, over two hundred thousand men would have been killed, wounded, or gone missing. At least twenty thousand civilians were killed in bombing raids and attacks from both sides of the war.
We remember the sacrifices of these brave men, because many refuse to remember.

It was that they made it more honest to be more efficient and allowed evidence to be released publicly.

No, We cant. at all. look at the state of this country. look at what those people were fighting against. every descendant of theirs that supports the current regime are flat out traitors. They didn't fight and die to maintain shareholder wealth. You should be more outraged. Recognizing history while ignoring the lessons is absolutely pointless.

Bro, they won't even admit to British aid during the Bulge. Sure, the was a reason to hate Monty, nobody liked him. But Monty and the Brits warned the Americans that they were stretched in the Ardennes and suggested moving Patton there. When the Germans did attack Monty moved 3 divisions to the river, making it impossible for the Germans to cross. He also put 4 division in reserve under XXX Corps aswell as rallying broken American units. He was eventually given command of American units in the

And the US were over a year too late to join the war, again as they were late for WW1. Then they changed the exchange rate in the favour of the US of course, when it became time for Britain to repay a contribution for munitions et al provided by them.
