#15 someone gave me a nice pen light one time that runs on AAAA batteries. Those fuckers were hard to find during the pre amazonian times;/

#2 Dude we use the metric...like most of the time...sometimes...I was really surprised that out of school people switched back to using body parts to count distances actually.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#15 hey man, I actually need one of those batteries, can I have one?

#6 i have been told by mgt several times to adopt these "icebreakers" in meetings and as usual i dont follow those instru... suggestions. I dont see any value and it makes it cringy since apparently everyone is into "hiking". Whos gonna admit in a meeting to enjoy being held upside down covered in honey being slapped while being ordered to "mate me, stupid bee" while your parner wars a leather jacket and terminator glasses, notbwearing bottoms?

#23 This can be useful sometimes:

I don't like introducing myself with a "fun fact" or anything else people don't really need to know, more often than not it's "tell us what we can make fun of you for" and even if that's not the case, no one really bonds with anyone that way, so name, pronouns (if desired), major/position (if applicable) are really the only necessary things to share, if that. Feels stupid to share my major in major-related courses too, although being in the major isn't always a requirement for courses.

Fun fact: This game is stupid, leave me alone."

Spaghetti Beer? If it works out as well as the Slim JIm Natchoes, I learned about here. It will be a game-changer.

Ah yes, many of the classics here.

#1 This is one reason I'm skeptical of the whole VR headset thing.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#15 Yes, these exist.

University and sadly also my work in a nutshell

#23 that's the left lol

#1 If you're watching something that's not engaging enough for your full attention, what's the point in wasting the time?

#2 American's when they see KPH instead of School Shootings per Calorie.

It’s not MEATBALL-A, it’s MEAT-A-BALL.

#2 When the US starts using gallons/100 miles. :)

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Don't do that, it'll cause F250 drivers to have heart attacks.

#14 I didn't pretend. And now that I'm back in the office I no longer get weird looks when people try to shake my hand and I tell them I don't shake hands.

Maaaaa! There’s a weird lookin stray cat outside!

The worst part of watching netflix on your phone ,, is not being able to scroll on your phone at the same time

3 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

You can ?Reduce from full screen place where you want so you can scroll away

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what split screen is for.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Still amazes me people use their phone for netflix.

So you don't agree with everyone on the left, and you don't agree with anyone on the right

3 years ago | Likes 268 Dislikes 21

Here I am stuck in the middle with you

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It is an issue. Only one side there has any possibility of reaching those goals, so you're pretty much stuck choosing 'not perfect' instead of 'entirely evil'

The two sides' argument is bullshit. One side is stripping human rights and banning books, the other is trying to stop that. It's pretty fucking black and white.

Unfortunately US politics isn't most topics anymore.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Most topics in the world, but not, specifically, US Republican talking points. Not perfectly acceptable anyway, unless you enjoy implicitly accepting gross violations of human rights of people who aren’t like you by refusing to condemn them.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Topics such as tik tok dances, skateboarding in the Olympics, jeggings, best decking screws, even pitbulls: yea or nay, even how to bring down inflation, nuclear power as stopgap for carbon emissions, mars mission: any point, these can all be called issues with a wide range of reasonable opinions, some of which experts and those paying close attention are probably the best qualified to comment on. But “do trans people deserve to exist” and “should refugees be saved from drowning” is not hard.

"That's Democrat. We count those."

"I just write in 'science' or 'equality'."

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That used to be my go-to joke for this meme as well, but with the wisdom of the years... I'm pretty sure most people would just say they're on the left unless they have some pretty idiosyncratic (read: crypto-fascist) ideas about "equality" and "scientific advancement".

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

No one who’s left agrees with everyone on the left. What a stupid faux centrism meme.

3 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 13

The last line leans hard left, unfortunately.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The last line, equality and scientific advancement …? Wdym?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly that.

The quote is probably 15 years old at this point. I first started following McAfee on FB when I was in university. He’d just finished a religious studies degree and written a book debunking the big cult tricks used by organized religion. In other words, this isn’t some new anti-Republikkkan meme; he said this when the parties were a lot closer in their policies, before the right went full Christofascist.

Stupid centrist type statements are very old too. I remember them decades ago and found them just as spineless then.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I read this and instantly assume I'm older than you. Especially since I lived my teenage years in the midst of Satanic Panic. The only thing that's changed is that their "targets" (people of color and the LGBTQ community) are more socially acceptable now, so the backlash is greater. It wasn't that long ago Democrats were against gay marriage and military service. We haven't had an openly atheist democrat in high office that I can recall.
