This has been my view for the last 17 hours. I'm very stoic, but I feel the need extra positive support.
Came home from work to find my 9 months pregnant wife having a complex partial seizure. Went to the E.R. and she had a full seizure. After an emergency c-section I am the father of a beautiful baby girl!
Hello Freya!
Due to the sedatives given to get the scans she is not breathing on her own correctly. Put on a c-pap machine until they wear off. Otherwise healthy.
Doctors believed wifey had eclampsia but that was ruled out. No signs of a stroke yet hemoglobin tests show she has a gene for it. Heart looks fine on echoes.
Still a mystery; waiting to do more testing.
She's a fighter and so is my daughter. When both awake they try to rip the tubes out of there mouths. Wife's sedative levels have been upped a few times to calm her.
I know she will pull through but I still ask for positive vibes. Please and thank you.

Speech pathologist here: make sure she gets a full cognitive workup when she's stable.

She may have new onset seizures, any family history? I'm sure they did a CT of the head already, if not make sure they do. (1/2)

I'd suggest an MRI too for better imaging, & an EEG to show seizure activity. I'm an RN on a neuro unit, any questions hit me up. Congrats!
