Just remember, soak the rag and the cap stays on. Tie the rag around the neck. Throwing an uncorked bottle will get liquid all over the thrower.

Hi Bob

#45 You could save the economy with the Lee Iacocca model of business- build small, reasonably-priced cars that people want to buy. Tariffs aren't the way to do that.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and ignore all the safe design warnings to save a few cents.... oh Pinto....

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That was Ford. Iacocca was in charge of Chrysler.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He was with Ford before Chrysler. The Mustang and Pinto were projects he spearheaded.

#40 $600 CAD for base model, after tax is $690 CAD, literally anything else is a wiser purchase than a Switch 2 right now.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I wonder how many Americans will try to drive up to Canada to buy one without Tariffs.... I wonder how many will be arrested afterward....

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wish the switch 2 a very "get emulated within the week".

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Seeing as how the Switch 1 took less than a year to be emulated and the Switch 2 is more-or-less just building upon the same system, this will likely be a new record for the fastest a new console will be hacked and emulated and I think everyone is happy about that 😈

#32 I watched a furry artist's stream where their mom was a guest star and it was amazing. Then they designed her fursona together, and the absolute panic the artist had when their mom asked for bigger boobs was magnificent.

FUKKEN FOUND IT! I have no idea how to search through twitch so just scrolled forever but found it: https://www.twitch.tv/morninchai/clip/EntertainingInventiveJamDendiFace-eMp_HcbON2KehCmZ For the record, I was there live and Chai (aka Nateybeak)'s mom was darling.

Kangaroos are already pretty Anthropomorphic except for y’know the tail, pouch and lack of a thumb. Red Kangaroos are weirdly jack, hence that person’s mom.

#30 wait... Water helps with that?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My voice therapist has been very emphatic that being hydrated is a huge help towards managing voice control. If you are dehydrated, your vocal folds aren't as flexible, and will cause the voice to dip into a lower register. It is one of many things that help to produce a stable, higher-pitched voice. Another is stretching exercises, breathing from your diaphragm, and talking slower. I've been doing voice training for two years with a professional. Shit works

cant really do fem voice if you sound like the only drink youve had in weeks was a bucket of gravel

#9 fuck CBT, if you have significant trauma or face significant discrimination or illness or other hardships in your life then CBT is often tantamount to trying to gaslight you into not being depressed about your very real problems. I hate that it's the go-to "one size fits all" therapy that institutions like e.g. the NHS try to funnel everyone towards, it's often actively unhelpful for people with more serious issues or facing significant challenges

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

A-fucking-men. There's THREE EMDR therapists in all of Bavaria my insurance provider covers. Many "classical approaches" fucked me up worse.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Couldn't agree more. The US VA keeps trying to push that shit on traumatized veterans, and I hate it. CBT is cheap and fast and quite frankly unsuitable for anyone with real problems in life, or an IQ above freezing. It's medically-sanctioned gaslighting on behalf of insurance companies and perpetuates abuse of vulnerable people in the name of turning a quick buck. I would like to extend a hearty "Fuck you" to all the shit-for-brains quacks I've had to shout down while trying to get help.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Like, in some fairness it *does* help quite a lot of people who access it, and (as is the NHS' favourite line) it *is* pretty strongly evidence based with studies to support its efficacy. What it absolutely isn't is suitable for everyone, though, which (because it's cheap and fast) cash-strapped (in the case of e.g. the NHS or VA) and/or money-hungry (e.g. private insurers/providers) services/providers tend to try and use it as. For people with e.g. trauma or other complex issues it can be +

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+ actively detrimental, and I hate that I keep being pushed to "just try a little bit more of it" because it's the only thing which is available :/

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I feel your pain- another bone of contention for me is that many CBT practitioners are wretchedly arrogant, undertrained, and are way out of their league. I admit I have utterly and completely run out of patience with such infuriating foolishness. I have a fun mix of autism and complex trauma that should be a big flashing "Do Not Attempt" sign, but these fuckheads keep pulling this paternalistic claptrap on ASD, PTSD, and DIDs cases, who are all incredibly lousy candidates for workbook CBT.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yep. Also bad for a lot of autistic people and neurodivergents with a similar profile - we already engage in a whole bunch of metacognition.

Any therapist that thinks your challenges must be all just a ~matter of perspective~ can go fuck themselves.

I've never had good therapists in several decades. Recently been investigating a therapeutic framework around different parts of your mind having different roles (which can all argue with one another). Sometimes called integrated family systems.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

*Internal Family Systems. Integrated would be the goal perhaps?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I've had therapists try to explain CBT to me many many times and I'm like ...yeah I do that already? And it's not very effective? And they think I am messing with them.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Similar here. Therapist give me someone to talk to who won't use my feelings against me, but it's rare for them to be able to do a whole lot else for me. It sounds like most of them are trained to work with much less introspective clients.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

God, yeah, I'm diagnosed ADHD and strongly suspected to also be autistic (though i've not sought a formal diagnosis yet), alongside being disabled and trans, so I tick a lot of 'CBT unhelpful' boxes. The most useful bit of mental health care I've ever had was a course of CFT - compassion focused therapy, technically an offshoot of CBT but much more focused on building tools and habits of self-compassion than just "thinking your problems away". I don't think it's a huge coincidence that I +

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

+finally realised I was trans a few days before the final session (after at least 10 years of being in oblivious denial/repression of it), and the first thing the therapist said to me after I stammered out that I thought I was questioning my gender was like "hmm... do you think that migh be the source of some of the self-hatred and image issues we've been talking about?" and idk if anyone's ever said anything more affirming or reassuring to me; it was such a relief to be validated in that moment
