Maybe it's just a serial killer with a fetish for physicists? I hate the fact that is probably one of the less worrying possibilities.
BotMatt
Stop spreading stupid conspiracy theories. Do some fact-checking before you post dumb shit

Iran weakening the US?
LegendofSleek
About 4000 Americans die every day- not from a specific cause, just total. Over 3 years you get to a number in the millions. With millions of data points to choose from, it's not hard to cherry pick 10 deaths to look like a conspiracy.
ThatOtherMacAvoyWoman
Only 2 are dead. The rest are missing.
ps238principal
This isn't unusual for the amount of scientists and researchers we have, several of them were old or had dementia or other issues. Thinking this is some kind of conspiracy is baloney, which is probably why Trump's FBI is investigating it. Better to chase their tails and do something actually involving real crimes, like the ones TrumpCo is committing.
ps238principal
Edit: THAN do something. Stupid phone.
SteveD31415
10 missing or dead out of a Workforce of how many? That is relevant. This reminds me of the dozens of witnesses to JFK's assassination that disappeared or died. And out of the pool of possible Witnesses, it's just normal statistics.
breadedfishstrip
The whole thing is a conspiracy nothingburger given the giant population of broadly defined "scientists" working on "sensitive research"

I'v seen plenty of movies that start like this, just look for the local rich nazi... it's always the nazis
PoliNukeHybrid
From what I have read about this it seems to be a stretch to call all of these "suspicious" or even related. Some were natural deaths. Some were barely connected to sensitive programs. Most had nothing to do with each other. It feels a lot like conspiracy theorists cherry picking events to make it look like a pattern, then it started making the rounds in the media (particularly conservative media), and finally someone decided the FBI should investigate because they saw it on Fox News or wherever
ThatOtherMacAvoyWoman
Literally none were “natural deaths”
blaghart
>a republican is gonna do something about it< this is how you know it's not a conspiracy. If it was, Repu licans would be covering it up, not looking into it

Um. A republican SAYS they're gonna do something about it. I'll believe it when it's done.

Good thing they laid off all those FBI agents and forced other experienced ones to retire. You know the ones keeps us and the nation safe. Well, at least the billionaires will get their tax cuts.

FBI's 'allegedly' probing. WTF! 10 top scientists vanished and /or dead. 'The Republican-led House Oversight Committee announced Monday it will investigate' Hm. A repub-led investigation.

Elon Musk, Bezos and Thiel are pulling some kind of Bond Supervillain shenanigans. Building a giant laser they'll fly to Mars and hold the world hostage for all the remaining money they don't already have. And all the best memes for the Meme-god.

more likely oil companies. Everything bad you've ever heard about nuclear is Big Oil propaganda, with basically all of it being some flavor of lies. For example, Oil and Coal power plants put out literally infinitely more radiation than Nuclear power plants
jonalexassblast
I used to work at a coal power plant, and there were plenty of hot zones that had to be dismantled and replaced with non radioactive parts from time to time, shit was wild as hell. The place was so toxic, in one of the landfills they had solid rocket fuel buried in it.
TheDildoOfConsequences
* in routine operation
blaghart
The fact that that's your first thought is not only wrong, it's also Big Oil propaganda. Almost no Uranium has ever been spewed into the atmosphere even in nuclear disasters. Meanwhile coal has uranium impurities that get dumped into the air every time it's burned. And literally thousands more coal plants have blown up than nuclear
TheDildoOfConsequences
I'm not going to downvote you, because Big Oil propaganda is most certainly a thing and only an idiot thinks they're not affected by it, but if you're interested in a respectful discussion then you'll need to assume a somewhat broader frame for my perspectives than just mindless regurgitation of corporate indoctrination. Also you might want to stop sounding like Big Nuclear astroturf.

That shit is weird for real, it makes me really uncomfortable when a conspiracy youtuber lays it out but with receipts because it is so crazy it shouldn’t have receipts

And if there is anything to it, this administration is entirely incapable of dealing with it.

Unfortunately this is mostly a distraction from everything else.
The conditions provided for linkage between these people is so loose (worked at XYZ... is scientist...) that it covers about 200K people (probably more).
It's already been confirmed that at least 3 of them had absolutely nothing to do with the others, and that 3 of them had their spouses/partners confirm their deaths were non suspicious.
Biggest one tho is a former US high-ranker, whose wife has requested the FBI for help
ThatOtherMacAvoyWoman
Is the big one you’re talking about the Major from NM? I didn’t know his wife asked for help.

Before Steve Bannon was working for the White House, he was making money by selling illegal Gold in WoW. Nothing is too stupid to be true anymore.
MadamPuddifoot
Wait he was selling real gold via a video game?
OatmealChocolateChipCookies
Steve Bannon was an investor in a business. The business hired third-world workers to farm World of Warcraft in-game currency ("Gold"). This in-game currency was sold to other World of Warcraft players for real-world currency. This process is known as RMT (Real-money trading). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-money_trading

The MIT professor was shot by a former classmate who was jealous of his success (the same guy shot up Brown University a couple of days later). The fmr Air Force general only took his wallet and a gun - leaving his cell and rx glasses. One of the “victims” was a lady who relentlessly tagged NASA (didn’t work for the gov) in appeals for funding for her “anti-gravity” research. These things fall apart real quick once you start pulling threads.
req4adream99
*the Brown university shooting was completed earlier than the MIT professors murder.
billymaditsdone
I wonder who brought this forward. Distractions.
eronth
Yeah so far I haven't seen anything convince me this is even interesting to consider as even a coincidence.
ThatOtherMacAvoyWoman
Why does it matter what Maj. McCasland had with him?
req4adream99
Hmm. Let’s see. A wallet that usually holds some form of identification. And a lethal weapon. And he left wearables and his prescription glasses at his house. Almost like he wouldn’t need those items. Because he was going to use the gun on himself and wanted his body to be identifiable. He’s also at the right age where a lot of men commit suicide. It’s not complicated.
Rosenaa
Money and a Gun. No phone. Maybe he did not want to get back... OR. Someon just toke the two things he had on him, when they kidnapped him...
ThatOtherMacAvoyWoman
For real. It makes it MORE suspicious if you ask me.

Also the *retired* Air Force general hadn’t been even close to anything secret for 12 years.
GlennBecksChalkboard
Yeah, this is really only getting some traction because it's being framed as if it is somehow too wild and unusual to not be a sinister conspiracy. Mostly by leaving out a lot of context and details.
