Watching them serve eggs like that makes me sick to my stomach. That's not cooked yet.

I think this guy is fairly famous though (obviously the Japanese cook). I feel like I saw him on tv like a year ago for his cooking.

Is...is that gravy on eggs?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's demi-glace.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's demi-glace, which is like a rendered down beef stock. So yeah, it's like a gravy.

Uncle Rodger is gebuibely a shit comedian, i dont know how he has aby following, he just regurgitates racial stereotypes from the 40s

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 14

Thats his original accent from when he grew up in Malaysia, he codeswiched to UK educated accent when he moved there. So if anything he’s highlighting the racist idea that there is only two accepted English Accents “Generic American” and “Oxbridge English”. https://youtu.be/oHKqcE59AnE

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I appreciate the source, but i still reserve my opinion about him as a comedian.Legit accents dont change how all his material is how hes from asia, and exacerbate stereotypes.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That shit isn't code switching. It's doing a derogatory voice for laughs. He just gets away with it because he is being derogatory towards his own people.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

As much as I don't think all racial comedy has to be racist, I feel like I have to mention that your argument is pretty weak at best. It doesn't even adress the original statement which is that Ng regurgitates racial stereotypes. You assume that is about his Malaysian accent, which although could be included in the stereotypes hardly amount to all of it. He does multiple caricatures of asian people how they are judgemental, loud and rude and people can rightfully find that offensive.

I'm hoping to snag a reservation later this year! First saw him on the Japan Egg episode of Worth It.

I loved Worth It. It was hilarious how many videos Andrew put out trying to make this recipe.

I was sad to see it ended :( it was such a great show, especially once Steven got a bit more mild than at the start. Wish they'd had swiss food too.

He seems to have regretted this in subsequent years. Earlier this year this he openly criticised China in his act and was subsequently banned from Chinese Media. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-65669623

Stupid yes, but actually chinese supremacist? Probably not. Mike on the other hand I look to a lot and he seems to be a really cool and well educated dude who travels a lot and knows a lot about different cultures. He is 100% right to be anti Chinese government and unlike Nigel he actually KNOWS what it's like in China. I hope this gave him even more popularity and cost Nigel some of his. 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He apologise for critiquing/working with someone who's critiqued China? Fucking wot?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Please say this is fake.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow... I knew there was a reason I didn't care for him, but like Mikey.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

what is the apology about?

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

That's weird since Roger has a stand up routine making fun of Chinese censorship that I've seen.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

....is this real

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man screw this guy then

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What a stupid world we live in. It's a character making jokes and he has to apologize for it.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

He isn't apologising for himself. He is apologising because one of his guests is a critic of china and their various atrocities.

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Yeah he's apologizing for hosting a guy who's critical of China....which is even worst

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Shit this is worse than I thought. Mike Chen is born and raised in China and moved to USA when he was 8. Nigel Ng was born in Malaysia and moved to USA when he was 18. Both have had plenty of time to experience and learn about China's totalitarian government and Ng should know better than to fucking throw Mike under the bus. Especially over a political opinion that is FUCKING proven and correct. This makes Ng about as bad as MAGA apologists.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Well he learnt and meanwhile has achieved his ban on weibo by now

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

why should someone in Malaysia know fully well about China's government?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Same reason I live in Scandinavia and still know what is happening in Russia?

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

not a good comparison. do you know what's up with Albania's government? or UKs? Loads of people in scandinavia don't. And most here didn't even know what Russia was up to until their highly publicized war on the Ukraine.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

1. Yes I have the internet. 2. If you are a public figure with a huge following and you make a political stance you can't hide behind ignorance when it turns out you should have googled more.
