We’ve been working for 4 years to make this our sanctuary. Finally feel ready to share.

Better watch out for vadals. They could make a long cut in that vinyl liner.

Can I come hang out

Kudos. I would like to know more about the greenhouse, please and thank you. Materials, lessons learned, if there's a thermal mass, any consideration to the angle of the roof, that sorta stuff. If you don't mind.
somerandomhooman
Happy for you, my friend. I’ve retired to a place with water off my front yard and water 1/4 mile off the backyard. Life is good (though Dead is better!).
spidermenz
It's nice to be in a good place and space while you wait

As a owner of a home with a swimming pool for the last 26 years.... no. Absolutely not.
Callipygius
Yeah we had a pool when I was a kid, I will never own a house with a pool. Way better to live near a community pool
Meyek
Pool party at op's house!
Eldibs
I'll bring bratwursts and buns if someone else brings drinks!

That's a good sized lot, half acre?
girlintraffic
The total property is just over an acre. This is a view of the left side of the property. The right side of the property has many trees on it and we just planted a few more for apple trees and two peach trees. We hope to develop that portion in the future.
Merulast
WTF with a pool? Mos of us could work 40 years and never own a garden with a pool <.<
FussyZeus
Honestly the only people I’ve heard of who are happy to own a pool are ones who can do/learn to do a lot of the maintenance themselves, otherwise it seems like a huge money-sink. Maybe OP works on em.
girlintraffic
We do our own pool maintenance and it can be a big money sink if you don’t do routine maintenance and keep up with it as you’re supposed to. We just replaced the diatomaceous earth filter by ourselves as it had a crack in the manifold. So yes, they can be expensive, but we also enjoy it very much in the summer when it gets too hot.
buffthemagicdragoon
That’s true, but have you considered saving your anger for the Epstein Bezos McConnell class and their protectors? They’re the reason for the wage stagflation
Merulast
Hmm I see two scenarios. (a) Person just was lucky enough to get house and garden from Family (won birth lottery) and build Pool 4 years by themselves. THEN: Wow. Good job. Excelent! Looks amazing. (b) you made enough spare money to buy a pool this size in 4 years. While others in your couontry starve homeless. Then: No its not just a few. You are ALL part of the problem.

What a dumbass take

You're stupid. Like, an impressive amount of stupid.

The dork is not flaunting their wealth inequality for likes. I'm with him. If you can afford THAT sanctuary, good on you, but don't go on social media bragging how you "worked 4 years" to get there.
