Bet that's going to be fun when the pig grows up.

A pet pig owner told me a cloven hoof accidentally stepping on her husbands junk & rooted up rug edges are the only downsides

8 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yeah; had mine step on my bare foot once and was very, very careful not to let that happen again.

Thanks for the link, I hate it. As a 50+ year old person, that looks like zero back support and just a king size futon thing. Nope. My 20 year old self would probably love it, but I could also sleep in a bean bag back then if I had to

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Even as a 32-year-old, most of the sofas I've tried in furniture stores are way too low. I've been told it's because of some stupid design trend, apparently to make a space appear bigger. Because that's worth fucking up your back and struggling to get up for.

Just so ya'll know, theres no such thing as a "teacup pig" or any small variation. They ALL eventually become HUGE.

8 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I've always wondered is you can take a piglet belly and make miniature bacon.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Quiet piggy

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are certain breeds that will stay small-ish, but my concern would be the shitting everywhere

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

They are cleaner than dogs. It took me one day to house train my pig. He NEVER pooped in the house, even when we were snowed in for several days.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

cat box or outdoors? curious

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Outdoors. He would walk to the door and stand there waiting. If I didn't notice him in a minute or so, he would grunt to get my attention. If he was outdoors and I called him in, he would usually stop to pee before coming inside, which makes him smarter than some people I know.

And if you think cat shit smells bad, hoo boy you have never been to a pig farm

8 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Pig farms are very different than pet pigs. I used to raise pot bellied pigs and the dogs created more of a mess in the house than the pigs did, by far. Pigs are incredibly clean if given the opportunity to be clean.

Just wait til they get bigger…

Dogs >>> Pigs >>> Cats

8 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 18

Weird, you eat cats?

8 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats.

Who is forcing you to make these comparisons? Are they in the room with us now? Just enjoy the things, get one of each, or like me, none of each because I can barely afford my existence.

I would like to know more about this couch mattress

8 months ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 1

Pretty sure that's an IKEA couch with an extra piece in the middle.

A coucttress if you will

I have a Lovesac sectional that I use as a couch bed. When the day is done , I simply fall asleep in whatever direction I like.

8 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I second the lovesac! Great accessories also like speakers built into the couch.

They are called theater sofas

6k to 7k plus delivery/installation. Gonna have to get a second job.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doable, but the space to put it in a room where it belongs is the kicker.... Though I did think about the cost to have memory foam or pillows instead of floor. Or you could layer yoga mats on each other... Alternate with blankets, make lasagna.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aww what a cute little bacon bite. Won't be able to do that anymore when it gets to 200lbs...

8 months ago | Likes 123 Dislikes 5

Oh yes it will. Whether you like it or not C:

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't worry it's a micro pig the salesman told me so /S

8 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

I have 2 "mini" pigs and they are miniature compared to most pig breeds. I have a kunekune who is about 350 lbs and a potbelly who is about 150 lbs. These are not tiny animals. They are incredibly intelligent though. Fun pets to have but make sure you have space for them and understand you may not want them indoors because they can become a bit like a bull in a porcelain store.

8 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

As someone who’s known a Great Pyr who believed in his heart of hearts that he was lap dog. Attempts will be made by Pvt. Porkchop

8 months ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

as someone who used to raise potbellies ... yeah, that won't stop them. Being 200 lbs just means it's harder to ignore them when they want lovings.

8 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Its not an eating pig. Its a love hog.

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Micropigs exist. They're tiny and also hypoallergenic.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 22

""Micropigs" are not a recognized breed; it's a marketing term used by breeders for mini pigs (usually Potbellied or Juliana pigs) that can grow much larger, often 100-200+ pounds, with smaller "micro" labels leading to unhealthy practices, though genuinely smaller research pigs (Göttingen Minipigs) exist. The core issue is that most pet pigs sold as "micro" are simply young, undersized individuals or genetically manipulated research animals, not a distinct, tiny breed."

8 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And like 95% of “micropigs” sold to people thinking they will be tiny forever are just regular pigs that get huge from a shady dealer.

8 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Ehhh. According to Wikipedia minipigs grow to 200 pounds... in relation to normal pigs that grow to be 1000, but not a small animal for sure.

8 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They're out there, depending on the breeder. From my understanding 200 pounds is the heaviest a mini pig can get to by maturity.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

They'll get to about 40-50lbs at their biggest as long as you don't let them over eat

8 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 17

"Micro pigs" aren't a real thing, so it depends on the actual breed. Pot belly pigs are typically 100-250 lbs when fully mature.

8 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Nope, they are real. My mother in law was a breeder and her pigs topped out at 50lbs as long as they didn't deviate on their diet. Before she passed my dogs would go over to play with her 5yo 35lb house pig.

They might not be genetically different from a pot belly pig but there are absolutely bloodlines that do not get to 300lbs.

8 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 13

So you purposely underfeed it to stunt its growth?

8 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yes, and/or they selectively breed only the smaller pigs so that desired genetic traits like small form are carried on throughout many following generations. I did ~5-10 min of reading on "micro pigs" yesterday and it talked about irresponsible breeding practices. I assume this is what that was referring to. We selectively breed dogs for traits too. Good and bad. We get things like pointer dogs who can indicate at and retrieve hunting game. We also get pugs who can't breathe well standing still.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I controlled your diet, would I be underfeeding you if I only fed you enough to keep you at 170lbs instead of letting you get to 250-300lbs? Do you think it's healthy to let a small animal get to 200lbs when it's frame can only healthily carry 50?
