Ok guns are neat, the way they work how different firing systems work, bolt carriers, trigger groups, configurations..they are just cool machines. In video games I hoard weapons, collect weapons look for the iconic and cool ones even if they don't perform as well...that said, this is pretty excessive

I mean, I've worked for a few "mom and pop" secondhand stores. They took any excess inventory to their home. I can't imagine it'd be different for a gun shop. Whatever doesn't fit on the shelves gets stored at home, waiting for its turn. It's easy and they don't have to pay for a storage unit.

The 2nd doesn't mandate the formation of well-regulated militias, it notes that they are very important, and aren't possible if the right of the people to keep and bear arms is infringed.
The people that are supposed to be forming these militia are the people who have a sense of civic responsibility, i.e. THE LEFT, not the right.

I love seeing stuff like this. Because you know these people have lots of guns. But 9 times out of 10, you know what people like this don't have? Lots of ammo for those guns. All the guns in the world won't do you shit if you don't have ammo to shoot.
And to be clear, to effectively leverage an arsenal of that size, you're talking ammo counts in the hundreds of thousands. And you better hope to God you never have to try to mobilize with all that shit because it's all getting left behind.

News reports about nut job shooters often say they had 'over 1,000 rounds' in their home storage. Which sounds like a lot, unless you go to the range more than once a year. Any sort of reasonable practice with a fire arm is 100 to 200 rounds.

I agree that the number of guns on display in the picture is a waste of money, but you can make a legitimate case for having more than one rifle, albeit not dozens or hundreds. Home defense and hunting are very similar in that regard in that it is reasonable to have different guns for different ranges, calibers, light conditions, and so on. Heck, having one rifle with X caliber because the ammunition was cheap in 2018-2021 and another of Y caliber because that's what's cheap now has some sense.

If you wanted to argue that those adults are mentally ill for displaying their guns like that and having their children present for it I'd agree wholeheartedly. I'd also agree that if the funding for those guns came at the cost of the family it's an indicator of mental illness. I have concerns over just using the quantity of just guns as a deciding factor for mental illness though.

I mean I carry a handgun when I'm camping in the wilderness primarily because of bears and wild cats but ammosexuals are a danger to themselves and the public. I've had 2 or 3 run-ins with bears that were solo, thankfully, but it only takes 1 protective mother.

Their cookouts are fun) that dont have even 1/4 of this amount of guns in their home, even with their collectibles. I’d argue it is when you have more guns than you have functional uses for and aren’t making a collection of historically relevant guns.
If you consistently hunt for multiple different animal types you need multiple different types of guns.
If you perform sport shooting in multiple different disciplines you’ll need multiple different types of guns for the disciplines.

Collecting mass weapons, for weapons sake, is most likely a problem.

Yea, for the most part for hunting I’d say that would cover it. I’m from an area where most hunters were also sport shooters and you don’t really wanna use your hunting stuff for sport stuff. At least for the most part depending on the sport.
