Hey Imugrians
I've just been travelling through Turkey, trying my hand at being a working artist on the road
(which I can make a post about if anyone is interested).

Imgur is blocked in Turkey. Imgur, wikipedia and porn, oh the humanity! (so this one is for all the expats)

Istanbul.
A drawing from my little airbnb. There are loads of ways to travel cheap. Prepare your own food and stick to hostels. But the price of airbnbs were so reasonable. Most private rooms going for around £10 a night! On top of that, the street food is so tasty it's hard not to spend all your funds eating all day.

Many nights were spent right next to a mosque, which will wake you up at 5am every morning.

Some more sketchbook stuff.
I post a lot more sketches on my insta

The food. Oh lordy the food!
Not the best country to be a vegetarian in. Kababs and slow cooked meats are king. A good hot meal of traditional street food can set you back as little as £2

Ephesus, near the town Selçuk

Turkey has been host to countless empires throughout history. Persians, Greeks, Romans, they're all hanging out there. Ancient wonders are dotted across the country.

So many ancient ruins they're even building cities underground and in the cliffs.

Göreme Cappadocia.

I travelled around the country using buses which were cheap and in great condition. They give you tea and biscuits and old ladies tend to hand out sweets to their fellow passengers. If you can rent a car I suppose that would be better, but the public transport was so easy it didn't feel necessary.

Turkey is amazing and a good spot to sketch. Go if you can.
If any other artists out there want to some tips on how to sustain yourself on the road through your art, let me know. I might make another post about it soon.

It's good to be able to browse on imgur again. Thanks for looking

Incredible talent. What an adventure! Maybe fodder for an art/travel book? Keep a journal of some kind!

Almost didn't follow you in Instagram. You are at 69.9k followers. Wouldn't want to be the one to take the 69 away. Yes I know I'm childish.

Excellent sketches. I can do stuff like this but I definitely haven’t made the time available. I love drawing. It’s so relaxing.

Ephesus is pretty cool. I like that you added the cats. There were so many, and I wanted to take them all home.
