Hobby Day, featuring a very ADHD selection of hobbies!

I have a lot of hobbies...

Some ideas never get off the ground (my combination bookstore/small publishing house, for instance - "Cock & Bull Stories" and "Yellow Bikini Books," so called because it would just be itsy bitsy)...

Sometimes a quick sketch satisfies my desire to create...

Sometimes the vision needs further exploration...

...In a new medium!

Although my career has moved away from the arts, I still take joy in the pieces I created during school, and the skills I gained along the way.

My favorite play! For a book publishing class, I designed a layout for the book and made a printed copy - there's nothing more satisfying than holding a thing you made entirely yourself!

I was into embroidery for a while... This was for my dad...

For my sister... It's a Haunted Mansion thing. Not quite done, here, but it eventually became a neat little pillow!

I decorated my backpack on a whim, a while back!

Another handmade gift for my brother...

My bone knife! I'd like to turn the rest of the rib into a sheath, but the angles aren't quite right. Tempus fugit scrimshaw here...

D&D projects next!

This became part of a sewer our characters had to escape through...

Doesn't look like much, but D&D is all about imagination, right? It was a really good game.

And this beast. Oh boy. $20 and kind of falling apart...

... Now, behold the FrankenTrunk! The inside is reinforced with thin cedar planks, sides patched, new handles... It's still not done, but it's close! (Please excuse my friend's garage - he's been nice enough to let me work on it there, since my apartment is smol)

Crochet! I made The Doctor's scarf years ago, and this square was a test run to teach myself a new pattern...

...Which I then used to make this enormous dragon shawl for my best friend! One row down, here...

I don't have much space to work with... It'd probably help if I more promptly removed my dishes, but hyperfocus is a hell of a drug. The yellow strings marked the space where I switched from open boxes to "filled" boxes, for the dragon silhouette.

Storage as it continued to grow!

Okay, I don't even know why I took this picture, let alone added it to the album. And now I'm on mobile and don't know how to fix it. Oh well.
