If the GOP wasn’t in love with trump and the grift they make off him, and they weren’t obsessed with the genitalia of children, what a better place this would be. And what if the democrats actually stood up to him instead of saying, “trump learned his lesson, he won’t do it again”. There would be no Iranian war, gas wouldn’t be so expensive, Ukraine would be in a better place in its fight against Russia. What if politicians worked for the citizens and not corporations. People tend to leave their nations in search of better. Immigrants who don't want to be intolerant like their home nation is, isn't exactly hypocrisy. It's a demonstration of why they left. Like when Americans want to leave the US and come to Canada. They want freedom instead of oppression.

So, living in Missouri, this is pretty disingenuous.. it was 10 miles away according to what I read, and on a street named troost which is known for being a not good place. 10 miles in the city is a pretty long way.

And with the number of people playing soccer in the United States, the US should be unbelievably good at it. The problem is to play in the United States at any sort of elite level, takes money. Money to join the “select” teams, money to follow those teams to out of state tournaments, money for off-season, coaching, etc.

The college system in the US relies on Football, baseball and basketball way too much on the men's side, which stops a lot of it right there. Women's game is different at college level so that's why the US women's team is perennially strong.

The problem is there is no room for commercial breaks so the TV companies would rather show one of the sports where they can fit in commercials.

I really hope the stadiums etc. are empty. The World Cup has once again demonstrated the sheer greed of folks in the US - price gouging across the board. Ridiculous ticket prices, hotels cancelling bookings so they can relist for more, public transport jacking up prices 10x to over $100 for short trips, the list goes on. Other countries go all-out to make the events welcoming and accessible, but no, not the US.

I'm pretty sure that will happen. FIFA released already more than 50% of their hotel reservations indicating that bookings are well below expectations, the prices for tickets are insane, so only the richest people from developing countries are able to watch in person and people from developed nations still are undecided if they can afford it.
Then there's the US with their Visa shenanigans cancelling approved Visa at the last minute or outright denying them.
This will be a huge shitshow.
