Stop playing the Military card. We make a decent living. If you are going to make a post, don't bring your Service into it.
EDIT: (Hopefully doing this right)
First, I don't care about Military discounts if they're offered sure, use it. Typically they're only found in Military towns/cities anyway. Hard to come by otherwise. And at the end of the day, you're not taking away from anyone else.
But that's precisely why Military members shouldn't be asking for a handout. We already have so many avenues of assistance to pull from along with the random Military discounts.
The public already holds the Military to a high degree of respect and using that for your own personal gain is, in my opinion, wrong. It's like going to a restaurant in uniform and walking around *hoping* that someone pays for your food.
For anyone who has ever paid for a Soldier/Airman/Sailor/Marine/Coastguardsman meal, on behalf of all Service Members, thank you.
I mean really, it's a volunteer only force, wherever you are, whatever your predicament is, you're getting a solid paycheck with REALLY good benefits. Asking for a free ride home could be taking away from someone that has far less than you and needs much more.
And for anyone that is supporting a Military member's ride home, thank you, too.
Be the reason the public respects you.
