These institutions are only as strong as the people who are tasked with upholding them. They have abdicated that responsibility and the march to full-on fascism is at least a third of the way complete. A piece of paper isn't magical, it won't stop someone who doesn't care about what it says (I.e., trump and republicans).

The constitution is only as strong as the Supreme Court and congress. If they want a king, the constitution can't stop them.

The constitution is what the supreme court tells it to be. The supreme court said the president is above the law, nothing happened about it.

It's not, though. Had there been more sycophants on the Supreme Court, they would have simply allowed him to sign away birthright citizenship with an executive order. And I will not be surprised in the slightest if they find some pathetic justification to allow him to run in 2028, despite the constitution explicitly prohibiting it.
