Gen-X was constantly told there would be consequences to our actions or inactions. We told them to stuff their consequences. And now here we are, in our fifties holding a sack of consequences. I'm just going to throw them in the drainage ditch behind the Arby's.

You'll be fine. Just keep an eye on it!

Look, all of you are fine because I know someone who has it worse.

My generation grew up on "get over it and get back to work"

My family used, "Pour the blood out of your boot and get going." Purportedly from an incident wherein someone in the family (my grandfather or a brother) was hit by a piece of a tree that had been struck by lightning and was indeed bleeding down his leg. Of course, THEIR dad had been mauled by a bear and lived. The pics of that crew from the 1920s is quite... illuminating. Tough bunch.

I damn near chopped my finger off with a lug nut wrench last week changing a tire. It took three demanding family members to force me to go to urgent care. X-ray, tetanus shot, 4 stitches, antibiotics. I still think I would have been fine.

Psh. Who needs stitches when you got a spare bottle of super glue

Don't forget: "It's not that bad, stop being a [insert slur here that calls into question your manhood]"

You're fine.

Stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about.

Stop whining.

It's not that bad.

This better be serious.

... yeah.

Elder Millennial here, it wasn't even "You'll be fine", that at least acknowledges that you are not currently fine, it was "You're fine". As if your injured state didn't exist.

So yeah, doc got pissed once because my adult self didn't go to the ER when I burned the snot out of myself. I did a great job with first aid... but I did need an antibiotic a few days later.

My brain just goes "I'm fine."

What age is a elder millennial? Is that like a juvenile genx or something?

Depending on who you ask, geographical location, and when in history the definitions were created it's folks born roughly between 80 and 85.

A lot of us grew up in much the same environment as the last of the gen X.
