Now I understand this is a joke, but... that WOULD be a hell of a show. Just saying.

It’s only egotists if it’s from the Ęṟġôț region of Greece, otherwise it’s just sparkling barley juice

The Chris Nolan Troupe performs the heroic story of The Odyssey at a town or hamlet near you.

and it only takes 3 whole days to perform!

Critics will criticise. Can't make a movie yourself, so gotta criticise others achievements like the big baby you are

The idiots who complain about The Odyssey being woke are the same morons who still think Jesus was some blue eyed blonde Caucasian man. They never cared about authenticity or accuracy, they're using the Odyssey to mask their weak pathetic hatred.

Meanwhile, Nolan is a botsucker.

isnt this the movie made with ai generated stuff or am i missremembering?

Aw, then fuck it right to hell.

Christopher Nolan's famous for favoring practical fx wherever it's possible to do so. Him using any AI at all would be a significant scandal, as far as his creative reputation is concerned. So I don't think there's any AI in this one, no.

Did he even get an authentic demigod witch to play Circe?

4 days ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yes he did. Source: I know her agents brothers cousin third degree former girlfriend.

What does that make us?

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Without further details I'll have to ask 5 different persons of whom I know max. 2 personally. Might take a bit, but we'll get there.

I've given up on Nolan after Dunkirk. And it looks like culture war has given The Odyssey a huge boost. Is the movie good? Doesn't matter anymore. After all...

I'd also like to remind people of this shit Nolan pulled when he pushed the release of Tenet in theaters during a pandemic.

And I like The Odyssey as a story and hoped they would have gone ahead with the sequel to Troy two decades ago, but it never happened. I don't like Matt Damon as an actor, but the other casting choices are fine. I'm sick of seeing bad lighting in movies from great cinematographers. Same thing happened with Dune which I was looking forward to. Judge a piece of entertainment by its quality and not the bullshit that goes on in the minds of people who are making money off of reactionary content.

Saw it last night. 5/7. The movie is great. Advice, though: bring ear plugs for the scene of the sac of Troy in the second half. I think my

theatre discovered they could turn the volume knob past 10. You couldnt have heard a jet engine at full throttle during that one.

Bruh it is really hard to get ergotized barley now and ergotizing it yourself is illegal, sadly.

Maybe Jeremy Clarkson will sell you some. If you haven’t watched Clarksons Farm on Prime you’re missing out. It’s a hoot. And it’s almost hard to believe Britain can feed themselves with all their beurocratic bullshit.

Fuck the police

It's the Man holding us down!

4 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly. If he was an artist, he'd do it.

4 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Genuine question: what is ergotizing? When I googled it, it came up as "argue angerly" and I don't imagine yelling at barley would be illegal.

4 days ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't it devolve into a bar-ley fight anyways?
I'll get my hat.

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look up dancing plague/sickness

4 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergot

Ergotizing would be deliberately cultivating this fungus on [insert grain here]

4 days ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Erogtizing barley is when you culture it with some hallucinogenic fungus. Basically turns it into LSD. Romans and Greeks got absolutely fucking doinked on that stuff before telling stories or singing on stages.

4 days ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Ohhhkay, Thank you! That explains both what it means and why it is illegal! TIL.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This kinda explains the stories they told.

4 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Greek/Roman mythology makes a *lot* more sense if you picture the corner market crackhead telling you about it while he smokes the butt he found in a sidewalk crack.

Do they keep long? A guy gave me 15 of them about 2 years ago and I've forgotten about them until just now.

4 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Apparently the hairs on the outside of the seeds have some poison in them and you have to roast them and sand it off? I've done them twice and did this process once and it was wild. Best trip of my life
