This is about true friendship, faith in one another and cameraderie. Sidenote: it is champagne they are sharing. Keith opted for Jack.

Can't upvote this enough.

Legends!

Because Bowie rocked!

Since 2016 the world has been going to shit. Bowie was a universal bond for humanity, once that bond left the planet, things fell apart.

She was definitely rolling after that

She took a lot of shit from Ike. Came out on top.

She never became a Private Dancer.

Instructions unclear; drank Jack Daniels and exploded.

‘flat broke’ in 1983?

8 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Listen to 'Contact high' by Ike & Tina. It doesn't get any better than this.

Did you see Bowie call out MTV early on? https://youtu.be/XZGiVzIr8Qg

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She was headline touring throughout 1983. It was her hugely successful cover of "Let's Stay Together" that got her a 3-album deal.

8 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

She released that song in November, so no, she wasn’t touring throughout 1983. The album came out in May of 1984.

Look at the venues. It’s hard to argue that her career was on the fast track because of the adoring fans at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie.

Maybe I read your comment wrong, I thought you were trying to say that she was touring because she’d dropped a classic, and not because she needed free buffet coupons to survive.

Guy always looks like pic taken the moment after getting hit by a haymaker. Lips flying off his face, crooked nose, hair doing something.

‘Tonight’ is such a magnificent song - those two unique voices together just work.

Looks too young to be Keith Richards, surely he was about 340 by then.

Better than all the rest.

Better than anyone.

And she got to put her lips on Bowie. Good on 'em both. If I could go to my grave having kissed Tina, I'd die happy.

David Bowie's sexuality transcends mortal understanding

8 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Ike was a washed up Wife beater at that time.

8 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I am convinced that the world went to hell because David Bowie died. Our universe lost a crucial weirdness sink.

We need to protect Nick Cave and Tom Waits at all costs then

The Starman had to go home eventually.

probably.

I have an uncle who has seen countless stars perform in concert. He says the absolute best show he's ever been to was Tina Turner in Kansas City. (I can't recall the "when & where", but I'll reply to this message once he answers my text.)

Kemper Arena, 1985.

Do we have video of her exploding?

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Of course Keith opted for Jack

8 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If you like Bowie but have never really gotten into his catalog may I suggest his 76 album Station to Station, it got me wanting more

8 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Station to Station is one of his best. Diamond Dogs, Pinups, Scary Monsters, & Aladdinsane, Hunky Dory, Glass Spider, The Lodger- ALL GREAT

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My favorite is his live 72 Santa Monica album. It was a more intimate venue and you really get his personality in it. It really celebrates him as an artist, instead of many of his themed albums.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a soft spot for Scary Monsters. It’s got Tom Quine on guitar.

8 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'll keep an eye out, not to the 80s yet. I went 74-76 and now I'm 69-73

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who would have thought that of those three, KEITH would still be around 40 years later.

8 months ago | Likes 176 Dislikes 1

Well preserved.

PICKLED, even.

8 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

He negotiated heavily with death, got a good deal.

8 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

There's a reason Keith cannot be killed by conventional weapons.

8 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

He's a HORCRUX?

We don't need another hero, we need more people like Bowie.

Would literally be another hero. Or villain, if you count labyrinth.

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile

First hint that i was in the wrong timeline was when Bowie died, seemed off.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He’s not dead. He just went home. There is no other explanation for Bowie. Alien. And good on him.

8 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Man who fell to Earth wss his biopic

8 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm sure you all have noticed how badly the timeline has been going ever since Ziggy translated into another dimension?

8 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I saw Bowie in '97 at a pretty small venue in Atlanta. I was 16 and wasn't a fan (yet). The tickets were $16, parking was free, and it wasn't a nightmare to enter/leave. Imagine that to see a legend!! I wish we could go back to straightforward concerts that average people could afford. Concerts have gotten out of hand. $1,000's of dollars and several hours in traffic..hard pass. Nevermind the risk of stampede death (looking at you Astroworld)

8 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I remember looking around at all the 40 year olds rocking out wearing capes and make up & spiky hair. At 16 I thought it was weird that all these olds were at the same concert I was at. Now at age 44, totally get it. I hope they're still rocking capes, make up, & punk hair in their 70's

We can be heroes, just for one day.

You know what, I really really wish I could swim. You know, like dolphins can swim.

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a great lyrics to a song… any song writers here?

8 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's weird to me which people get a pass on here for banging underage girls.

8 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 6

Yeah, people seem to forget Bowie has quite a few skeletons of his own. Like you can acknowledge the good and bad in a person in these sorts of things. This? good thing, children? Yeah no.

8 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

I mean, I suppose not everybody knows whether any public figure has a sordid past or not. It tends to not be publicised as much as the good stuff they do, and folks around here might like Bowie more than in other places, I suppose.

8 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, you'd think if people liked him that much, they'd know more about him than most. I'm not a fan and I know about it. And people on this site tend to really really hate people who have only even been rumored to have done inappropriate things with underage people, as long as they already dislike that person.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, he is past the point of generating new headlines, and the public eye moved on. I suppose fans won't be spending their time looking for more info on him, if they haven't stumbled into it yet.
I mean, I had no idea. It is unsurprising considering the environment and the stuff powerful people can get away with, even worse back then.
