The Anglo-Saxon women were enticed by the Vikings grooming and hygiene. the wives were willingl spirited away from their smelly and unkept English husbands.

I wanted to call it the Tower of Flour but wikipedia says it's made of almonds, sugar and egg whites. Sigh. Ruined pun aside, I still want it.

Meanwhile, Muslim travelers thought Vikings were disgusting, observing that dozens of people would wash their faces, rinse their mouths, and blow their noses in the same basin of water. Still, the fact that they washed anything at all put them above the English.

It's forecast 34C here today (near Oslo) and the all time norwegian high temp is 35C so, uh, everyone?

Seems like a health code violation, but I'll accept it.

Norwegian here. This is common work ethics here. Only exception is on May 17th, our national day, where you are required to wear a bunad.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I follow this guy. He did, indeed, wear a bunad on May 17th. And 18th, for good measure.

What is considered beatiful looks has a tendency to change every era.

The irony of cultures that enslaved others is that they would end up killing the sassy slaves, so only the submissive and suberservient slaves survived. But, inevitably, folks would cross breed with their slaves, ensuring future blood lines were a mix of domiance and submission. This went on for thousands of years in human history, and now we're all a mix of dominance and submission trying to be a global society.

Your silly a/b/o fanfic is leaking.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's college sociology and anthropology. Interesting stuff. Look into it some time.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

No honey. Just because someone gets ambushed and is forced in chains and slavery (or is born into it) means they suddenly get some magical submission genes. Anti-social and hostile behavior however might be genetic, but it doesn't make them leaders of any kind.

You misread what I wrote. When one civ captures another, they weed out the sassy slaves so only the ones that are submissive by nature or who can pretend to be submissive are left. Sparta has a massive culling event when they captured their slaves. South American cultures did the same. History is loaded with these events. Calling me "honey" and being dismissive of what I say just lets me know that you have your opinion in your mind and won't look at reality. Have a good one.
