Worthwhile thoughts

I would rather be Whole, than be good.

Is it more laudable for someone to do good deeds when that is their nature or to applaud someone for overcoming their violent nature?

Bravery is doing something supremely stupid and it somehow works in your favor

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can be impulsive and good at the same time.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this some kind of smart person joke

LoopyMacGeorge of Earth... You have the ability to overcome great fear... Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps!

The number of people who have told me I shouldn't have morals I don't always live up to has been disappointing

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Can a man still be brave if he's afraid?" "That is the only time a man can be brave."

"You're gay Albus, we get it, we're fine with it."

Too many smart words, my brain hurts

This is the key to sobriety. Very well said my friend. ?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My..moral ideals eh? Well. Time to execute order 66

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Speaking as someone directly related to mutaneer cannibal pirates, I can say safely the impulse dose not define you.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Confidence also comes from knowing just enough to wildly overestimate your abilities. It's not always a good thing.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And maybe not being prejudiced isn't when you don't see differences, but when you recognize it and compensate for it in your own thoughts.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or in other words, these things are active, not passive

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think courage is doing what is wright even if you stand alone, and bravery is doing something in spite of fear, but still a wonderful post

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

doing what is *right.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought you were using wright as a pun and thought it was hilarious

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

THANK YOU FOR DARK MODE!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To all those thoughts... yes

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Being normal isnt the abscense of being elbow deep in a horse, its knowing how to post about it on imgur for continuous upvotes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...in spite of character limits.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyone has good and bad within them. One gets paid attention to more than the other.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Virtue Ethics, certain characters of mind, body and spirit that make a person "better" that you CAN cultivate said characters to be good.

diarhea is the absence of no-poop

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I don't think the goodness thing follows. You can be a good person by overcoming bad impulses, but it doesn't follow that everyone has them

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Besides, morals are subjective and personal, so behaving according to your moral ideals doesn't make you good either. Just good to you.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Is being good an objective quality in a person? Or is it a developed skill and thus more subjective.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You could make the argument that good is objective based off intent. Even if the action was subjectively incorrect was it intended to help?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One could, you can’t. Unless you want to retract your opinion that morals are subjective. Otherwise these two statements are contradictory

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's why the action is subjective but the intent is objective. If a 6 year old helps you paint and ruins the project...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do people not already know this?

7 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 26

I agree with most of these comments but on the internet people are constantly trying to reinvent the wheel

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope. Its how stupid arrogant people do business - bravery without fear. And everyone has bad thoughts or impulses. The good choose goodness

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

"An ignorant person is one who doesn't know what you have just found out." -- Will Rogers

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I think its not something immediately obvious. In most movies and such the villian and the hero are very clear in their morals

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You'd think so, but people get really violent about stuff like pedophiles.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s like you take the good. You take the bad. You take it all. And then what do you have? The facts of life. The facts of life.

7 years ago | Likes 165 Dislikes 2

There’s a time you gotta grow and show you’re growing now, you know about the facts of life.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You peer inside yourself, try to take the things you love, and try to love the things you took

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dammit, I need to listen to that song again

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks, now that fucking song will be in my head all fucking day.

"What is better, to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort"?

7 years ago | Likes 507 Dislikes 6

Would you rather live in the pouch of a giant kangaroo, or have a tiny kangaroo living in your own pouch?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Both are good but to overcome your evil deserves more praise.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can't compare the two. The 1st assumes no challenge at all, and the 2nd assumes great strugle. Besides, people who are born good have... 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

their own struggles to stay good. This is al assuming anyone is born good or bad in the first place.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you! I scrolled down to say exactly that.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or to,be born good but succumb to evil because you were corrupted by imgur

7 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

First time I decided to do coke off a hookers ass was because of imgur.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Was about to come down here and post this.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The latter makes a great story/movie plot, whereas the former is a delusion of many religion

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

You can be philosophical all you want parthunax i still need that soul

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Heretic

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some might say we're all born evil and learn to overcome our nature. Some of us do better at it than others.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What's better, to overcome alcoholism or to never let it develop to that stage to begin with?

7 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 3

You only get celebrated for it if you overcome it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I appreciate how odd this will sound, but if you never develop it, you never get to fight it. You would learn a lot about

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

yourself if you did. But don't. I'm pretty confident that it's not worth learning given the damage.

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Why bother with alcoholism when there's perfectly good heroin addiction right over here?

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I'm fairly confident you can learn a lot of different shit from any addiction. But I feel the more you learn the worse it'll be for you.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Parthunax did it first.

7 years ago | Likes 846 Dislikes 5

The Wizard of Oz did it first

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did you know he was voiced by the same guy that does Mario's voice?

I came here to say that. I'm glad you best me to it so I didn't have to figure out how to spell parthunax

7 years ago | Likes 146 Dislikes 2

Too bad you didn't have the time to learn how to spell 'beat'

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 28

That was an obvious auto correct error. Quit trying so hard
