We use their app so we don't have to talk to anyone. They used to know stuff. Not anymore.
StormDLX
The company did a survey years ago which determined that ~80% of THD customers don't want to talk to associates. Makes my job easier tbh.
I just wish that I could talk to someone sometimes. I build stuff by winging it some.

Until they do a remodel and move everything the fuck around and dealing with the in-between time where no one knows anything more than ever
Dontshopliftthepooty
Their app will tell you exactly where stuff is when you don't know! It even gives walking directions like GPS when you're in the store :D

Home Depot app, my friend. I use it all the time, even in the store where I work.

What, I say what in the actual fuck is this?
I work at THD. The best feeling is when someone asks where something is and you can tell them the aisle, bay, and shelf of an item.
mrmattTmcmattman

I'm lucky to get acknowledged by the customer reps at my local HD, nevermind where something is.

The Home Depot app is pretty good too. Most of the time it will tell you the isle and bay where a product is located. Even has a store map.
They even added a 3D feature to the store map last year. Pretty accurate, but only tells you the main "home" for the item, not all of them.
Sinmiedo1931
I learned this when I asked about an iitem and the sales associate busted out his phone and looked it up that way. He didn't know shit.
Orphen144
Please let me know when you memorize every one of the thousands of products in a store.
Calm your tits. I don't expect perfection. Simple competence is a reasonable expectation.
Checking the application that tells us where specific products are is plenty competent. Products and locations change frequently.

You can do this every time if you use their app; it tells you the aisle and bay for anything in the store, and how many are in stock.
Unless a store is awesome at adjusting on-hand quantities (unlikely) it's wrong a LOT. Call in or ask in-store for greater accuracy.
In my experience, it’s been pretty much spot on. I mean think about it… It scanned into inventory, stock is updated -1 when it’s purchased…
There's more to it than that. Shoplifters and logistical inefficiencies screw up the numbers, so they constantly have to be maintained.
Not to mention damaged product. I'm not saying it's completely inaccurate, but I adjust >50 quantities a week so shelves stay stocked.
I am going off of actual repeated lived experience… But hey, you do you.
It's literally my job dude.
