Before I bought it, somewhere around November 2015

I apologize in advance for the large amount of pictures in this post.

Old camaro front end

Previous owner wanted to put this in the truck

60 ford 223 engine

Need more power

Good bye

Empty bay

Nice tush

Sanded down those terrible green bezels

Swapping to automatic transmission.

No more clutch cylinder

Removed solid front axle front suspension

Everything you need to build a brand new modern independent front suspension

One of my first practice welds

Crossmember for the new suspension

Manual steering (for now)

Got some 2 inch drop spindles for a lower ride

Ride height without any weight

De-rusting and undercoating the bottom

Donor truck, 86 chevy c10

Dirty old 350

Also dirty and old turbo 400

Test fit seems fine

Motor mounts installed

After much measuring of course

Ride height with just bare engine

Digital guage cluster

Comp cams thumpr.

This cam sounds great

Whiny gear drive

Ended up swapping this back out for a regular timing chain. The whine was unbearable.

New fuel tank so I don't explode

Gotta give a little love to the rear suspention with some new shocks

Brake lines also being ran

New wiper linkage

Upgraded to power brakes

Old motor isn't looking too bad after a good cleaning and some paint

Setting up the head high shifter

Ran spark wires, engines starting to shape up

New windshield went in easier than I expected

Build your own exaust kit

Ran Sanderson block hugger headers with 2 Flowmaster 40 series mufflers

Keeping it a true dual exaust setup with shortish pipes exiting just in front of the rear wheels turned out to be a great setup. Not too loud, but loud enough to turn heads. No drone as of yet either.

Patching up some holes in the floor pan

Custom slip yoke drive shaft

And finally my first picture on the street.

Took about 6 months to get it to where it is today. Still have a few minor things to fix before it's "done" but it's in a good enough state to have a nice around town. Sorry for all the pictures again. Threw most of what I had in here since I didn't know what to leave out.

It’s been 3 years. How’s she doing?

I know how to change my own oil. So yeah, like we're on a similar skill level.

You lost me at "swapping to automatic trasmission"

I read that top sign as "BBW MOTORBOATS" and I'm all like, yup. That's fine.

As someone who lives in the rust belt, I'm incredibly envious of what great condition you found such an old truck in

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well I'm in new York. Got lucky with this I guess. The guy before me pulled from a barn in Colorado

Big black women motorsports

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I want to do the same with a Chevy Apache big window. Very jealous of you.

I thought the post was going to be about BBW motorsports...

Nice 60, I have a 58 Mercury short box and my brother has a 57 Mercury Long box!

Prob took you just as long to make this album as it did to restore it

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Absolutely gorgeous, and I love that you kept that patina and pinstriping. Fantastic!

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I have a child and zero motivation so I drive a Ford Focus.

10 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 1

Oh look at you fancy-pants. I drive a Chevy Aveo.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wanted a cheap electric car so I drive a ford focus (electric version)

Dozens of us! Dozens!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After I bought mine, I remembered that my grandpa bought the same year focus like two weeks before.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have motivation but student loans so I drive a v8 focus wagon

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have student loans and a two hour daily commute, so I drive a Ford Focus.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That makes me feel better about my 10 minute drive to work. But I do drive 11 hours a night for work.

Big Beautiful Women Motor Sports?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Good job, now you can use that truck to carry this massive post around.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Great job ! This is a wonderful build . . .

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why on earth would you swap manual transmission for automatic???

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That gave me a sad....

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think you bought the same truck I was going to buy off of Jericho turn pike. Beat me to it. But you did a sick build ???? ????

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ha yeah, that's the one

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope to see you around town with it. What paint color you going with?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Leaving it as is for now probably bringing it down to flower fields in Saint James for the swap meet tomorrow if it's not raining

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could use a paint job

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

You got my UV for your hard work but shame on you for cross breeding lol

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Knew I was gonna catch some slack for that lol

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still good job

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Much appreciated. Learned quite a good deal along the way

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This post has me fairly certain that you sir are quite handy.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well if they don't find you handsome...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good old red green. That man's a treasure

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you a member of https://www.facebook.com/groups/57to60fords/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am not, not really an avid Facebook user

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah too bad, great groups dedicated to the 57-60 Ford and Merc trucks, really good and helpful people there too!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This comment will get lost, but this was fantastic. These are my favorite posts.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks good, but may your balls be dipped in honey and placed on a fire ant hill for putting a 350 in an f100.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I like the rust look

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Great build and great truck. I have an 81 C10 that is almost ready for the road after about 2 yrs of fiddling with it. I'm stoked as hell.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How can you a ford all this?

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Get out

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Good one lol. It actually wasn't that expensive though. I've got some good friends I've made over the past year or so who have been (1/2)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A huge help. Such as one guy selling me the donor truck for just $500

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How much did you spend total?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm in it for about 8 grand

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Post a vid of that cam and exhaust! Kick ass build and I personally love the gauge cluster!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know how to edit the post or I'd throw the link on the bottom

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't put a Chevy motor in it don't put a Chevy motor... God damnit

Yea this thing fires up the second you touch the key. For the price there's really nothing to complain about

Yea sorry, I misread your post as it fired right up

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't want too but for 500 bucks I didn't have much of a choice

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Op, PLEASE upgrade the valve springs. Those old 350 springs are GARBAGE, and with that cam you're going to eventually float the valves.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As soon as I saw the rack in front of the cross member I knew what was going on.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why are they bad?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

its "sacrilege" to ford guys. Both work great but chevy engines and transmissions are far easier and cheaper to get a hold of

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 for rebuild, +1 for patina, +1 for time invested...-1 for chevy engine in a ford body and -1 for cluster. Damn nice truck overall, nice!

10 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 7

So glad others feel the same way about the motor. Never been about mixing manufacturers.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

You damn purists. That 350 is a great engine, if I was going to run gas again I'd drop that in anything. As is, I want a Cummins in my GMC.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'm actually a huge fan of the 350, but it's my job to give blasphemous non-purists shit. Don't like that dirtymax?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trying to avoid a lot of computer on the 4x4 rig. An old 12V is just about perfect for that. Otherwise I'd love the 300 lb weight loss.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oohhhhh first Gen Cummins. Yea that's a good idea. I've always thought a CJ8 with a 4bt would be cool

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Once things settle down financially, I'd love to do a CJ with a 4BT for the wife so she can have fun with me. It just seems like a great fit

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The cringe at the ford/chevy cross is real... Would have loved to see an EFI 302 from a fox in it

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Or just a 351 Cleveland. Still a nice truck regardless

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or a 351w

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Thats going to be the next build for my fox. 408w stroker, staying with some big valve iron heads, cant decide what intake, want to stay EFI

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Before I sold it that was the plan with my '86 lx

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or the new coyote block

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Screw that, i wanna see a voodoo swap from the new gt350. Coyote based, but different heads, and a flat plane crankshaft.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh, flat plane crank is great and all but waiting for that torque curve to finally arrive is a PITA. I'll keep my 90 degree blocks

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Touche'. Ok, so voodoo swap into light car lol. Or a Rail buggy!! that would be fun

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a chance to buy a 5.0 mustang with a Kenny bell supercharger on it for pretty cheap. If I had the 10-15 grand it would have (1/2)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Costed for me to make it work in the truck, I would have done that

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Idk how much you have sunk into the sbc, but you can put together a 300hp fuel injected 302 for $500

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And that's why I'm here, please teach me how
