So now I'm sitting here with all these snacks and drinks

And all these games will remain unplayed

Edit: I live in Melbourne, Aus for those who want to know.

FP Edit: Thank you all for your kind words and offers of playing games. I never thought this would make the FP, and I'm honoured to be a part of this amazing community. Keep on gaming everyone!

Looks like you pitched a shutout! Well done!

Fuck it...I'm in. Lets get some gaming done!

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I too am from melbourne and would love playing more board games but my friends aren't interested...

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Shut the front door, there’s a Legend if Drizzt game!!??

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's a co-op tile exploration game, similar to a RPG-in-a-box setup

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I must have it.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sounds like you need to make some new friends! Nice of you to invite them.

7 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I live in Melbourne, I hate board games but if I was invited I’d either say no thanks to your face or show up. People have no manners!

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Mate I'm in bendigo. If I wasn't so busy packing the house to move, I would have driven there and played with ya!

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

As a promoter, this is not a bad thing. I threw an event where 0 people showed up. So I bragged that it was packed & no one could disprove!

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

After all, since no one else was there, there aren't any witnesses who could call out my lies. It's brilliant marketing hahaha

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Brilliant!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You should do a YouTube show where you review board games. And call it Game Board or something.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You have a lot of good games, person.

7 years ago | Likes 732 Dislikes 4

Agreed. Some pretty good stuff there.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And a lot of bad friends, mate.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Do not assume it's a person, entity.

7 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Do not assume it's an entity, being.

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Stop being obtuse, friend.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

He's not your friend, guy

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Don’t assume it’s your guy, bud

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whoa whoa whoa. Hold up. There’s a Harry Potter munchkin?

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I used to love munchkin. I have so many expansions... I always want to play to like level 30 cuz of the huge deck, but no one will play that

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Munchkin is like Fluxx. If there's a thing, there's a Munchkin/Fluxx version of it.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There's an everything-Munchkin. I have backed both the Rick & Morty Munchkin as well as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Munchkin.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You need a better class of friends.

7 years ago | Likes 501 Dislikes 9

Or to not be an insufferable asshole

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree! When I lived in NY, they had a space at a mall for game night. I bet Melbourne has something similar?

7 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

We do! Alchemist's Refuge in the CBD is a fantastic bar/game space. Heard good things about Marché as well though never been.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

yeah, just get better friends, what could be easier?

7 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Making friends as an adult is way hard...

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

One advantage of being smoker, you meet a lot of people and it's easy.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I don't know adulting is hard, and sometimes weekends are busy. Try again another time?

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Co-workers usually aren't friends, that's probably why op didn't just say "friends".

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Correct. But it's good to get along with your co-workers, so I tried to run a games day with them

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'd play with you if we lived somewhere close

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Sorry. I feel anxious for you :(

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ah I was in Melbourne two weeks ago, so would have been in for a game

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ah Melbourne, where you can get frostbite on your sunburn in the same day

7 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Would come but busy on the spider fronts in QLD

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Didn't you get the memo? They all caught Ubers down to Adelaide.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And windburn in the mix too, maybe some sand rash and jellyfish stings

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

While you cough your guts out from the pollution. Seriously, nearly carked. Couldn't figure it out 'til I saw the city from a distance. Smog

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah, today was very smoky from the fires, I'm not far from them so we got a fair bit of the smoke.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Next time there aren't any fires, you take a look down a long straight eg Sydney Rd and you will still see the haze.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'd brave Australian wildlife to come hang out with someone with a game shelf that well stocked

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So sorry for you - your ‘friends’ need help. BTW - I see a bunch of awesome looking games, but I’m not seeing any snacks. I’m just sayin’

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just sit looking at my games and social anxiety and don't even get to the inviting.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That said if a co worker invited me to something like this I'd totally be down.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why are all of your games upside down? (And whoah there's a Bloodborne board game?)

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Bloodborne game is a competitive game for 3-5 players. It plays like the end-game content (the chalice dungeons) rather than the story

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’ve had this happen. Bad feeling in your tummy. Try a different approach next time. And ALWAYS invite two for-sures.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'd be there! We'd also invite you to our group. Played Smallworld, Terraforming Mars, and Azul this week.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I’ve played these games. These are good games. Your games are better than your friends sir.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It’s ok, I invite people out and am often disappointed. Never forget that you are the brave one OP

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I live in Melbourne. Where was my invite?

7 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

find yourselves a local game shop to meet up and play if you dont have the room.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm in. Melbournite here. SE suburbs, will travel!

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

As another person living in Melbourne, these exclusionary tactics are bullshit

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Also Melbourne. I played Joking hazard with two of my friends today

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Dandenong ranges here, but prob too scared to join anyway lol. An invite still woulda been nice though...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wondering where the Melbourne invite was too ... sounds like Imgur Games Night in Melbourne coming up!

7 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Also in Melbourne, out at Newport. Would have absolutely showed up, I see that Betrayal at House on the Hill.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also in Melbourne gonna be playing some tomorrow

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm in Bendigo, willing to travel for snacks.

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I'm Melbournian. Massive board game fan.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Looks like they invited the wrong people! I didn't get one either

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Sorry guys, your invites must have gotten lost in the mail. Unfortunately, my place isn't large enough for all of Melbourne :p

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Imgur session at alchemists refuge?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know, I only just came back to this thread, but I would be very down for this. @OP? We can @ the other melb folks in thread.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mores the pity. Love a good board games night, but live in Brissie these days. Grew up SE Melbourne.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sucks man, ive been avoiding my friends on discord because i needed a break socially from them. They have really hard attitudes to mesh with

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

and its been increasingly difficult to sit there and listen to them pander and pityfuck themselves

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey pityfucking myself is the only fucking I get and both me and I agree im shitty at it, okay Roger?? Er..Adam?? .. Or is it Bryan?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a mess

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kidding aside though, that is unfortunate, but good you decided to give yourself a break for your own mental health.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most universities have a tabletop game club that anyone can join (even non-students), a few ~40 yo people turn up just for fun and its great

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I’m coming! Where are you!??

7 years ago | Likes 241 Dislikes 2

I’ll bring snacks, vodka, and mixers!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have an awesome selection! Where in Melbourne? I'm down

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I too would join If within driving distance

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I see at least 5 games there I havent played before

7 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I'm told KDM is good.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

KDM is fantastic, but takes ages. One session is 1-2 hours, and for the entire game, it's 45 sessions

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you were within driving distance, I would be there for every session.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And Betrayal at the House on the Hill is my all time favorite.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Betrayal is really fun, especially with the expansion. Around 100 different possible Haunts

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ive bought the new Betrayal Legacy but only played the opening Prologue. Still excited to play all the chapters.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too, I'll bring cookies.

7 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 1

Me too, ill bring space cake!

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Wear your space pants!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll bring beer!

7 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Pizza is on me!

7 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I'll bring an overly competitive personality!

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'll bring meth!

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Well that escalated quickly

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We call it ice here, mate!

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

So you won?

7 years ago | Likes 1656 Dislikes 3

No the crappy co workers lost

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No, sir. You did.

7 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 3

Winner winner chicken dinner

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dang I lost "the game"

7 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 10

Well fuck you too.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just want to point out that you're the worst, and also that I just lost the game.

7 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Fuuuck youuu. Now I gotta go tell all my friends I lost

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Fuuuuuuuuck. You suck. Where is my Boyfriend, he is about to lose just like me.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's been almost a year.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh you asshole

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Provide free beer. It's cheap and it works. Won't have to every time.

7 years ago | Likes 261 Dislikes 8

Will also turn away many.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could be right

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Free pizza is cheaper and works on more people.

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Ya this is bullshit, I invited people over 2 years ago for my bday, I offered beer and food and only 1 person showed up. Half a dozen others

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

said they would but never did. I had leftovers for over a week.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not going to downvote, but I disagree True friends not only should come but should bring beer, pizza. He already provided a place and games

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Sure, but I assume these weren't already people he knew very well.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was my thought too

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This 100%!

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Booze is very expensive in Australia

7 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 2

Sometimes you gotta spend some money to make some friends

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah just buy your friends, works everytime

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That's why it works.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But wages are equitable from uk if buying a 6 pack- plus Aussie beer is better (sitting in Byron drinking stone and wood to be fair)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah exactly

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This. I paid 22 bucks for a 6 pack of Great Northern the other day. It's not even that good. Bloody spewin.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Jesus, at that price you're better off buying a carton and being the "oi you want a beer?" guy at parties.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what you get for buying Great Northern

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I paid less than $9 for a 6pack of not your father's root beer, and that shit is pretty tasty and craft beers are about the same

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are u okay?? What kinda place doesnt have a cheap beer??!

7 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Thank you for asking, we have our ups and downs. Downs being expensive beer, ups being pay day and drinking all the beer. How are you though

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That why I brew my own, plus I make spirits out of anything I can ferment.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gin is apparently quite easy to make, my sister in law made a fantastic batch for me for christmas. I am excited to try myself.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Many places.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sweden, Norway, Australia, Japan. A LOT of places pays way too much for alocohol

7 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

That's like 5k in board games, they can afford a slab. People should come anyway though

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Meanwhile germany with low af beer prices

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Beer =/= spirits. Beer is not really cheap per se, but there is a difference.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Finland

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Kilju

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Something tells me Japan offers scarily cheap shochu in large quantities.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I wouldn’t know, all I know is that my German friends were in horror after a Tokyo visit. About 8$ for a small six pack
