I think the biggest difference between millennials & younger generations is lack of occurrences that the younger generations encounter older items & thus can't relate to them. My highschool had 4 different outdated computer Operating Systems. I've used the floppy disks that were floppy. I've used TVs that only had knobs and switches, but no remotes or buttons. I've even used rotary phones & audio cassette walkmans. These things were already old when I encountered them when I was young.
So I installed Windows XP one of the better retro operating systems on a retro pc i build with an i7 3770k and a gtx 780 ti, the best retro hardware i could find for it.
Freaking amazing. It truely is amazing being able to show kids that the adults in their lives lived similar lives. separated only by time and technology, bridging the "generation" gap. With an amazing looking into the past.

that was my initial reaction but thinking back to my perceptions of the past when I was in 6th grade in the mid '60s, the Korean War was history to me and TVs seemed to always existed even though it had only been a decade since they were common in USA households.
Me thinking back to sixth grade now is like someone my age when I was in sixth grade thinking back to surviving the Great Depression and the World War not needing a “One” yet.
Yeah, I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact kids these days feel about the 90's the way I did the 60's/70's, and they feel about THAT the way I did fuckin WWI/WWII.
