He was quoted as having left a couple of dead chickens with it upon release because he felt it was too skinny

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The farmers are very nice that way.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe not. I've caught my fair share of predators in my animal pens and I'll dump them out a few counties over.

5 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

We play that game with the raccoons that destroy our bird feeders.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and then someone from that county catches and dumps them back to your county lol

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Which might be why it not legal most places?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And then the farmers in that county do the same thing in the opposite direction and we start over again.

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

That would be funny. I usually dump them out at Nathcez Trace State Park. It's 3 counties over and gives them 48,000 acres of safe space.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nah, the reason for doing what he did is to make the cat fear humans so when released will not approach dwellings.,

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

1) From what I've read Lynx encounters are rather rare? They're very elusive animals that avoid humans, no? The farmer in question said he

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2)found the Lynx to be too skinny so he left some of the dead chickens with it on release.

They are indeed rare, but any time a wild animal finds a food source that humans have made then steps need to be taken to ensure they do (1)

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

(2) Not return again. Making sure their experience was disagreeable, but not harmful, is key to that aspect of wildlife control.
