#1 Frozen cheese sticks? Is this a thing? Or is this just an odd way of describing ready to cook mozzarella sticks or something?

#6 Oh look, it’s me in elementary school, stacking pickles 2 high on those grade-f burgers they used to serve us.

#8 The Aussies and Kiwis are confused whether to argue over who invented Pavlova or not because you can't tell if that's a Australian or New Zealand flag.

#5 @WellWhatTheHeck, this one is for you.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

ha! Truth in advertising! That's why I never say things like "you'd kill your grandma with a machete for this dish!"

#5 I want to watch a cooking competition where recipe writers have to make their own recipes in the time they claim it will take. Once you hit time, you're presenting to the judges in whatever state it's in

#1 a "happy lil heart?"v when has that ever been a thing? You just draw the damn heart and be done with it. It's not a little heart monster

#13 I picked seven Romas yesterday, and this was indeed my level of excitement, especially since I got them at that almost ripe point before they crack. They'll be perfect in a day or two!

I knew Carpacccio back in the day, his painting suck, his favorite pizza sucks, and he was boring as fuck. Worst roommate ever 0/10

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So that makes you 600 years old, give or take?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

580, the kid was only good at painting because he got taught by some guy. He was boring, and his pizzas sucked

#8 fun thing is that melba toast is also named after Nellie Melba

#2 Do people not know how to open a bag of flour? Is this a thing?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You stab it with a knife and let it bleed out, right?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The fuck is a frozen cheese stick?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#8 the story goes that the King and Queen requested three different types of pizza and Margherita much preferred the one with tomato basil and mozzarella. However this is a legend and it has never been confirmed in a historical sense. Usually the telling is that it was an on the spot invention for royalty, but people were making pizza like that years before their rule

I don’t get #2. Flour just comes in a bag. Never once have I had an issue with any part of that bag. I must be missing something.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

In the US, flour and sugar usually are sold as what's effectively a brick wrapped in paper. Once opened, they're not being closed again.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Which is why you have some other container, which can be closed, to empty that opened bag into.

"The first thing that anyone sees is the face on the wall. You see the face first and you know. You know what's happened and you feel dread. Then, and only then, do you see the body of the victim. Always in that order."

I can see that scene in my head. I may have binged the show a few times too many.

What's all this then

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

a TV show called "The Mentalist", about a former TV psychic who helps cops solve crimes.

#2 listen. Everyone has a container for flour in their home. You don't need or want something durable or reusable, because you're just going to throw it out when you get home and put it in your nice flour container. Paper sacks are a inexpensive and disposable way to carry flour from the meal to your house.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I do not. I absolutely refuse to. That paper bag will remain until the last grain is used.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

from the meal?

Mill. Blame VTT

Why are you letting a Virtual Table Top spellcheck you?

#2 probably CEOs idea if my job is any judge. There is a frantic engineer trying to convince them otherwise but then CEOs "yesman" steps in to agree with CEO aaaaand now we are doing the dumb thing.

1 year ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Not to ruin the meme but flour comes in paper bags because if you put it in plastic any excess moisture can't leave and it rots quickly.

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

And they used to put it in sacks but it still poofed out of them too. I've never felt like the paper bags are a huge problem. My mom always put a plastic bag around the bottom of the flour bag, and now so do I.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Plus, the static from plastic in a flour facility? Bad idea. If curious, look up flour & dust explosions.

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

This. Speaking as someone with a LOT of experience dealing with bagging machines used for powdered milk... believe me when I say that if there were ANY reasonable alternative for the paper-bags-and-hot-glue system, WE WOULD FUCKING USE IT. Those bagging machines are a nightmare to keep running right.

#9 past the eggs and bread, the recipes have basically nothing else in common. French toast has cinnamon and nutmeg (plus whatever syrup/fruit you choose to eat with it). Egg salad uses mayonnaise and mustard, plus optional herbs like dill or chives. Who the fuck thinks these recipes are similar??

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Read it again "bear no similarities" except the ingredients list. They have the same major ingredients, though maybe different minor ingredients should've disqualified it anyway.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That might be a valid argument, if the person making the post had stated "same *major* ingredients". Otherwise, IMO, you have to consider *all* the ingredients normally included.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah it's like "eggs benedict is just huevos rancheros" and then "holy shit I never even considered that I'm gonna go jump in a pit and kill myself!"

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

no one, and I thought that was the point?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#15 the ideas mostly involve eating cheese

Another recipe/cooking peeve: the number of posters that think a 'one pot recipe' is an attempt to engage in ingredient juggling to have every part of the meal touch the pan and not trying to reduce the number of pans I have to wash.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Also they should tell us how many utensils that's only fair

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you need to transfer ingredients out at any point it is no longer one pot. Because I need to put those ingredients somewhere. So there's at the bare minimum some paper towelage set up, preferably like... a plate or bowl

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

HelloFresh is very guilty of this, and each time I threw everything in the same pan and it was fine.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mostly started with boxed dinners, kind of spread from that. Most are 'cook meat for ~10 minutes, add seasoning packet and pasta/rice' and you can usually add a bag of frozen vegetables to fill out the meal.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Frozen cheese stick? I'm intrigued

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

All I can think is they mean those frozen, breaded mozzarella sticks.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I've got some in my freezer right now

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

https://imgur.com/3V4he.jpeg Sadly no true marinara only some jarred spaghetti sauce. Why would they sell frozen mozzarella sticks with no marinara I ask you

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right you would think they could throw in a packet of sauce since it will be frozen.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ohhhhh, I forgot those exist. My immature ass thought it meant they froze string cheese.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

i mean the only difference is mozz sticks have breading on them. There are definitely recipes starting with string cheese and adding breading.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

https://imgur.com/F4jjBDJ.mp4 I don't deep fry at home because I don't have a fire extinguisher but literally all ya gotta do is buy string cheese, prepackaged "Italian bread crumbs" and like an egg coating or something but it's not something you really need to make yourself when they sell it in the freezer aisle and you can just air fry it. Unless you trying to be extra

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you for this. I was so weirded out by the thought of frozen string cheese
